Monday: I went on a lone run this morning… 1:04.45 minutes and got in 9 miles. It felt good and I did push the pace this morning. I love running with people but I do love running by myself, too. Sometimes I feel like I get a better run in when I’m by myself. The rest of the day goes as follows… PTO meeting, neighbor kids playing, indoor track practice…
Corom took our 2nd daughter out, then I took my oldest out for our one on one… We had family night and then it was bedtime/story time.
Corom went with Mike Fullmer to help him out and I watched a movie (Austenland). 🙂
Tuesday: Beth and I went for the Harry’s loop run. I got 10 miles in 1:10.33. It was a decent run. Now today’s day in a nutshell… Babysitting, neighbor kids playing, indoor track…
Our normal nighttime routine and once the girls went to bed… I headed over to Stephanie’s house to watch the Bachelor with Camille and Nicole. Yep I like watching that show. It was a late night!
Wednesday: Well with a late night, it came to a very early morning! A friend of mine called me at a little past 4 a.m. saying she needed someone to come to her house to watch her kids while she took her husband to the hospital. He ended up having kidney stones :/. I’ve never had them (knock on wood) but I’ve heard they’re painful! Anyway… Their 1 year old was up, so I didn’t get much sleep. I got their 3 kids ready then brought them to my house at a little after 7. The 2 other kids that I babysit showed up at 7:30… I had to hurry and get my kids ready for school. Finally I dropped everyone off at school and began the cleaning up of the morning mess. I’m tired already and I didn’t get my run in! The rest of the day was good and long. Stephanie and I visited our friend Camille for her birthday, my girls had piano lessons (they nailed me with snowballs-twice in the face)…
… Until I finally rolled my window up; later it was dinner, homework & bedtime. Corom works late tonight… I attempted watching a movie but was too tired… Off to bed for me.
Friday: I met up with Mac, Aubrey & Amber for a 1:02.42 minute run. It was freezing but still a good run. After chores I took the kids the rec center to play in their indoor pool…
We met up with the Thompson’s and our kids played for the next few hours. The girls messed around at the rec center for a little while longer…
… Then we went home. They were tired tonight. Total bliss! 🙂
Saturday: I met up with the ladies (there were 6 of us) and we went out for a longer run. I ran for 1:34.37 and called it good. The problem was… We ran past our cars… The others wanted another 3 to 4 miles and I was just done. 🙂 So I stopped and went home. That afternoon we took the girls bowling. It was a little hectic for Corom and I but the girls loved it!
That evening Corom and I went with the Fullmer’s and the Booths to the climbing Quarry for Mike’s birthday. I am so afraid of heights but surprisingly I had a blast!
At home the girls were with the babysitter goofing off… They set this up just a little before we left. 🙂
Sunday: Today was church. Sacrament meeting (testimony meeting today) was really good. I did have to take my 2nd child out because my oldest elbowed her in the eye… On purpose… A few more fights among the sisters…But other than that it was good. 🙂 We had the Barney’s over for dinner and then visited a couple of people. It was a good day.
Tuesday: I ran with Mac and Amber. We went out for 1:03 minutes. It was cold out! The rest of the day was with my brother, John and his family and my sister, Missy & her kids. My kids had so much fun with their cousins. John, Missy, Lyndsey (my sister in law), and I had a lot of fun.
We celebrated Lyndsey’s birthday, hung out, played with the kids, etc. It really was a good time. John & Lyndsey had to leave. About 5 minutes after they left, Lyndsey came back in with tears in her eyes. We sent all the kids downstairs… She told my sister and I that John accidentally ran over my girls kitten. 😦 He felt so bad!!! My girls don’t know that it was him… He did come back about 2 hours later with a new calico kitten (a little older than the one we had). My girls were so sad but so happy that he brought another one. He’s a good Uncle!
wednesday: I went out for a run with Jeff… It was only 1 degree out and in some areas would drop to -3. Yep after a 2 miles into it, he turned around and went back to the car. (Not dressed warm enough). So I finished off the run with the last 2 miles at a harder pace. I, too, wanted to be done. It was so cold out!!! Not a long run today… The rest of the New Years Eve day: we took the girls to the discounted movie theatre with the Thompson’s and their kids, & Stephanie & her daughter. We then headed to McDonalds.
After the kids came over to my house… They played, worked on play dough, did little experiments, etc.
Right after dinner, Yolanda (my sister in law) and her family came over for our annual blowing up the gingerbread house ordeal. During this time, my second child (7 year old)… Stuck her tongue to the freezing pole outside. Yep… She pulled a Christmas Story! It was bad news. I ran into the house to grab warm water while Corom was breathing hot air towards the pole and her tongue.
Once we poured the water on, she was able to pull her tongue off. We felt so bad (but laughed about it later that evening). I asked her why she did it and of course, dad told her too. He did say that her tongue would get stuck… I guess she didn’t believe him. Later on that evening, we had friends come over for food, games and fun.
It was a fun night with family and friends. My 2 older girls made it to midnight (1st year we let them stay up). The 2 younger ones made it until 10. 🙂
Thursday: New Years today… I started off my new year with an 11 1/2 (maybe…. I’m guessing) mile run up Harry’s hill loop. It was cold but a good run! Mac, Amber & Jeff joined me for this run. Good times. We cleaned for the 1st part of our day and the afternoon, the girls played out in the snow. We used a neighbor’s 4-wheeler to pull the girls around on tubes.
They had a great time! I froze… Especially my fingers! But it was fun. The rest of the night was low key. I think the girls were way tired. Putting them to bed was easy tonight.
Saturday: I began my day with a 11 1/2+ mile run (1:31.51 minutes). It was nice to be in the company of Rachelle, Amber and Mac. We did run a little slower due to the roads being icy in areas. But I enjoyed it! The rest of the day, we cleaned, we played, ran errands, etc…
Later on in our evening we had our friends from our old neighborhood (Olsons, Fullmer’s, Roundys, & Levitts) come down for a late Christmas party… It was really fun to get together with everyone again. The last time all if our families got together was last Christmas. All the kids played, the adults hung out, and we all ate…
We had very creative white elephant gifts and some that I could not take pictures of ;).
We went to a late movie and saw Unbroken. I read the book and loved it. The movie was really good, too. It didn’t finish off at where the book finished but I still thought it was a great movie.
Sunday: Another church day. It was really good in Sacrament meeting. My kids were good, so it was easy and nice to listen. I did teach the lesson in relief society. That went ok. 🙂 We did have a couple of families over for dinner.
It’s always nice to visit with people and to hear their stories! A little later Corom and a couple of his friends left for St. George… They are golfing tomorrow morning/afternoon.
Monday: With Corom gone, I had a late start with my run on the treadmill. I only ran for 36 minutes. It was good, though. At least I got something in. I did watch my friends 3 kids for her all day. My kids loved it. Stephanie came over with her daughter (and Emilee came to pick up her kids but hung out for a little while)…
We had fun… My youngest was a pill today!!! She was so emotionally draining! Hopefully she gets it out of her before her teenage years. I got a babysitter for my girls and the 2 wives of the guys that are with Corom and I went to dinner at the Pizza Factory. We were gone for about an hour, hour and fifteen but it felt good to get out. I put the girls to bed and then watched Without Limits with Prefontaine. Good movie. Corom arrived home and finished the 2nd half of the movie with me. Time for bed!
Christmas Day!!! Ours began at 4 a.m. My girls came in at 4 asking if it were time for presents. We had to wait for Corom’s mom and Gary… They were planning on coming over at 6/6:30. So of course I told the girls to go back to bed… They came in every 10-15 minutes. Finally at 5 to 6:00, I had them call their grandma to have them come down. Well they got snowed in and couldn’t make it. We, too, were getting a good amount of snow. 🙂 By 6:10 we were opening up presents. The girl’s stockings lacked in the goodies & little gifts… They were fighting the past few days, so we had to take away something (we kept threatening that Santa would take something away). We explained this reasoning to the girls but it didn’t seem to faze them.
They had a good morning! Then the rest of the day was filled with playing games, watching movies, doing their crafts (most of the stuff the girls got were crafts & games… And the ball pit), and playing outside…
It was a nice, lazy day! A fun time to spend with family.
Friday: I went out for a 13 mile run with 7 of it with Mac and Amber. The roads were snow packed and ice over… Yep… I slipped and fell once.
I finished in 1:43.35 (a little under an 8 min pace). It was a good run! My friend Stephanie and her kids came over and kept me and my kids company…
It was nice being able to talk with another adult during the day. 🙂 The girls were on one tonight…
