As I packed all the bags, packed the car and helped clean up my brother & sister-in-law’s house, Corom was out with the girls and the cousins playing around…

They had a good time going down the neighbor’s zip line. I let him know when he came back that I was a little frustrated. But I realized that I was frustrated because I was not there having the fun and it was a good thing to have all the girls/kids gone so things could get done. So hopefully he doesn’t read this because I didn’t tell him that packing and cleaning went by faster with all the kids gone. 🙂 He felt bad and was being extra nice.
The drive home is not going as well as the drive to California.

5 out of the 6 have been good… It takes 1 shirtless girl to cause a lot of issues! 🙂 She is a little spitfire!
What a great way to spend New Year’s Day… Driving home from California in a car… Great quality time together! 🙂
I
So I woke up this morning feeling really tired! After we woke up last night at 11:50, I didn’t get back to bed until 2 a.m. The foreign exchange girls got home from a dance at 1 and we stayed up talking. Anyway, I got up at 6:45 to start our packing and cleanup to head home. I, then, went on a 40:12.58 minute easy run. I was tired and my legs felt heavy but I had to get something in before our long drive home.

It was a beautiful morning! Very peaceful and the only noises I heard were rooster’s and other farm animals.
More goofing off today!

Christina (my sis-in-law), Aunt Mary and I dropped Z and A off at the mall. On our way home we saw a group of little girls (down the street from their house) selling “crystals”… Or rocks. 🙂 it was rather cute and we were their only customers.

We went to a friend’s house (Matt Brasher’s) for a bonfire and food.

We told the girls that it was already “the New Year” midnight and way past their bedtime. They were excited to stay up that “late”. By 9:30 this is what it looked like with our girls…

I, too, fell asleep at 10:30 and just woke up in time… 🙂 Happy New Year!
I woke up this morning and did not want to go for a run. I was planning on doing speed and really didn’t want to do that either! I got up anyway and knew I would regret it later if I didn’t get out and go. I ran a 11 minute warmup on the dirt road and then began a speed workout… Not to intense of a workout but it was something. From my brother-in-law’s house (Jarom & Christina) to the highway is about .6 or .7 miles of little rolling hills. My 1st one down was 3:52. I then jogged for 1 min and ran hard back up (I ran a shorter distance back up). It took 3 min to come back up. 2nd time down took me 3:38 with a 1 min jog and a 3 min hard back up. My 3rd set was 3:31 with a 1 min jog and 3 min hard up. I wasn’t all the way into it today but I am glad I did it so i won’t have to do it tomorrow. I did a nice cool down of about 12 13 min with a total of 53:05.16.

I came home from my run to find these 2 in the kitchen making breakfast and cleaning (Corom and his brother Jarom). That was nice coming back to eat pancakes, bacon and a fruit/veggie drink from their juicer. Shortly after, Corom, Christina (my sis-in-law) and I went for a run/walk. She is getting back into running and it has been fun going with her.

We ran 16:21.23 and walked about 9 1/2 min. It was a little hard and made me feel a little sick after the big breakfast.
What a busy day! The cousins played all morning and into the early afternoon together…

We then headed over to the neighbor’s house (the Brasher’s) to go horseback riding and fishing…

It is funny now but at the moment not so much… Z our foreign exchange student, was thrown off the horse. The horse actually started to run fast and Z got a little nervous… My niece was also bucked off pretty good! She didn’t cry at all and jumped right up. I wish I would have had that recorded!
