Recap on Payson Onion Days 5K
That was the start of the 10k (you can see my friend Rachelle Wardle… She took 1st in the 10k with a time of 39:30).
I actually woke up this morning feeling a little tired and lazy. My alarm went off and I debated whether to get up and race but I knew if I didn’t I would feel a little disappointed. So I got dressed (tried to get Corom up and the girls but he decided not to go- it is a lot of work getting the kids ready). I signed up for the 5k and met up with Melissa and Scott at the starting line (after warming up for 12 min)…
My 1st mile was a 5:47…. Way to fast for me. I knew I would have to slow down so I wouldn’t be struggling at the end. 2nd mile was a 6:00 and 3rd mile was a 6:02. My finish time was 18:29. Melissa took 2nd and after the race we did a cool down run along the 10k course. We ran back to meet my mother-in-law Sarah and our friend/pediatrician Mike Fullmer. (We cooled down for a little over 3 miles.)

They did well. Here were the awards:
This is Rachelle (she took 1st in the 10k) and Julia raced the 10k and ran well…
This is my mother-in-law, Sarah. She took 1st in her age group for the 10k:
The race was fun and I’m glad I ended up running it (I also won a nice watch in the raffle :)). After I came home and the girls, Corom and I went to the Payson Onion Day’s Parade. I love parades probably just as much as my girls (maybe even a little bit more).
You remind me so much of my Cross Country coach in High School. The kids are so lucky to have you!
Yay Sarah! Love seeing her pretty face on here : )
Thanks Ashley! I think the High School kids help me more than I help them!!! Sarah is rocking it… she is a machine!
