Corom’s Work Party

20131210-214134.jpg
There were just a few people there… It was everyone from Utah County that works for the county. Of course Corom takes it to the next level.

Or maybe one more level up…

They did have a raffle and for some odd reason all the county employees that left the party early gave Corom their raffle tickets. We accumulated just a little bit…

Yeah… We didn’t win anything! Just my luck…

(I went to lunch today with some friends of mine at Costa Vida: Michelle B, Ingrid W, Hilary O, Joni B, Sarah H and Bonnie… I watched a few kids today and my friend Hilary came over for a little bit. I ran to a few stores to get a craft for my 2 older girl’s classes. It was a busy but typical day.)

Nice, Dry Sauna After My Run

Amber and I met up in the South Valley Gym parking lot (Z our Foriegn exchange student wanted to come here for a Yoga class) early this morning. It was so bone cold running this morning!!! We ran 7 miles in 55:34. Oh… It was cold, though!!! I felt like I was doing two things at once… Getting my workout in and taking an ice bath. 🙂 for real… After a few minutes your body gets used to the temperatures, and you start to warm up and the cold is bearable.

I went in the gym to wait for Z to be done with her Yoga class. I should have worked out with weights but they turned the Sauna on for me so I could sit in a dry sauna and warm up while I waited. It was wonderful!!!

Gingerbread Houses & Nutcracker Ballet

Sarah (my mother-in-law) made gingerbread molds for the kids to decorate. She does this every year and it is very time consuming!!! The kids love it.

There was frosting and candy everywhere…

It was messy and there was a lot to clean up but they enjoyed it.

I took Z (our Foriegn exchange student and another FES) and my 2 older girls to the Nutcracker ballet dance at the high school.

I met up with a few friends (Lindsey D, Stephanie R, and Camille B). 20 minutes into the dance my oldest turned to me and said, “All the dancers look the same.” Then my younger of the 2 said, ” Is this all they do the entire time is dance. This is going to put me to sleep.” I thought it was good and the dancers were great but I’m glad I wasn’t the only one thinking the same thing… I did enjoy the music and some of the dances were really good.

I really enjoyed the 2nd half (better than the 1st half… For me.) My girls seemed to like it better, too. A lot of time and hard work went into this production.

Morning Run

My alarm went off at 5:15 a.m. I was so not ready to get up!!! I somehow pulled myself out of bed and met up with Amber, Beth and Trisha. I am grateful to have people to meet up with, otherwise I don’t know if I would get up for most of the mornings! We ran for 1:01.46. We went for a little over 7 miles. It is amazing how much longer it takes to run in the snow. Good times, though!

On Our Way Home!

Good morning Sunday!

20131208-080458.jpg
We woke up to a nice hotel breakfast, a dance from the staff…

We packed up our belongings and are now on our way home… We did hear there are a lot of highway closers due to snow and ice. 😦 Hopefully it won’t be a problem for us and we can get home!
We made it 20 miles passed Las Vegas before we had to stop for a restroom break. Over 4 hours and no stop! Amazing!!! We did not run into any road problems with the ice or snow so we were happy with that. We got home at around 8… The girls were still up and so excited!!! It was a fun weekend but it is great to be home! I am grateful for my mother in law, my sister and for Marti for taking care of the girls!!!
