Cross Country Practice

The high school kids ran a hard tempo run. 2 mile warm up, 3.1 hard, 2 mile cool down. It was hot today! They did well.

What The Duck…

I went to The pond today with 3 little boys that I’m watching. We brought lots of bread and fed the ducks.

Late Morning Run

20130816-094904.jpg
I left for my morning run at 9! I have not ran that late in a long time, but it felt good. I went for a 28:37 min easy run. Well it was supposed to be an easy shakeout run before my 1/2 marathon tomorrow. I dropped my mother in laws car off up in Woodland Hills. If any of you know Woodland Hills, the roads are steep! I ran down the mountain and because it is so steep, I ended up working harder to go slow. My quads felt it. 🙂 I was glad when I got back home… Hobble Creek, here I come.

Oh, what a beautiful morning!

So, yesterday, we helped out some neighbors in celebrating their wedding anniversary. We watched their 3 boys over night and I figured it would be nice to have some boys for a bit. After putting all 7 kids to bed (which the putting to bed process started at 8:15), a little later I heard one of the boys crying so I went to check on him and apparently when he cries he has a tendency to throw up. Corom came home (from picking up some milk) just in time for me to yell for him to grab me a bowl. Anyways, that happened around 10:15pm and then it took another hour and a half to get all the kids asleep and another 5 min to get Corom to bed. I knew that it would take a while for all the kids to go to sleep but that was quite the experience!
This morning I was way excited to be able to sleep in knowing that it was an easy run day and that the kids would probably sleep in due to the fact they went to bed late… The kids were up by 6am and by 6:30am were outside roaming the streets. At least they are having fun!

Cross Country Practice

The high school kids ran a 5 mile run to the Spanish Fork pool to do some swimming and to have some fun! It was a hot and tiring run for them. (We started our late afternoon practices to get them used to running/racing at that time and in the heat.) They did a good job.
