Locked In!
The girls and I went to soccer after cross country practice. (The CC kids ran 8 miles with the 1st 3 at an easy into medium pace. Then from mile 3 to 4 a fast race pace mile, easy from 4-5 1/2, then from 5 1/2 to 6 a fast race pace 1/2 mile and the rest a cool down to the school.) Anyway… We had team pictures for the soccer teams…
I wasn’t able to get a group picture with my 2nd because I was in it for being their coach. While we were taking pictures my youngest happened to get herself locked in the dark, single bathroom. I was supposed to coach the game that was starting 5 min. I couldn’t talk her into unlocking the door… She began to panic! Honestly, it was a nightmare… Her screaming was loud and so sad. I felt HORRIBLE because there was nothing I could say or do to get her out. A pretty good crowd gathered around with many people trying to help…
I was able to get another parent to coach/referee my 2nd child’s game (and my oldest had her game overlapping my other daughter’s… Corom is gone for a work convention… Ahhhh). Well 20 to 25 min later the people were able to bust the door open. Looking at my daughter standing back in the corner crying made me cry! Oh it was sad!!! But she got out and I am so grateful for the people around!!! I was able to coach the 2nd half of my 2nd child’s game and we (the 3 girls and I) made it to the 2nd half of my oldest daughter’s game. What a day! 🙂
