Lots Going On… Oh And Corom Bought A Bus…

January 31, 2015

Friday: I met up with Danny for an 11 mile run. We went at a good, talking pace but did have to climb a few good hills.

IMG_7760 I helped the girl’s elementary school with their assembly this morning. It’s always fun to go in to the school and help. I thought I would be overwhelmed or too busy to be the PTO (PTA) president but it has not been bad at all!!! I do have a great committee, though. I am not the most organized so it helps that everyone else is!

Processed with Moldiv I took my two younger girls and another little girl I babysit over to the junior high for a lunch cook-off. A couple of my neighbor/YW girls were in the competition, so we went to support them.

Processed with Moldiv The girls went to a friend’s house (until Corom got home from work), while I headed up to a track meet at the Olympic Oval. Our team raced well tonight. We just had the mile run, the 400 and the 4 x 800’s… But with just those 3 races, it made for a long night (I believe there were 24 heats of the mile alone). So many HS runners competing!

Processed with Moldiv I got home around 10:30 and we went straight to bed.

Saturday: Early morning for all of us… I had to head up to the 2nd part of the track meet and Corom took the girls with him on a 3 hour drive (one way) to pay a guy for a 12 passenger van and a bus that he wanted. :/ This is why I hate going to track meets… I always come home to something new at my house! (Granted… The guy only charged Corom $1500 for both… He just wanted to get rid of them.) Now we shall see if they run ok.

Processed with Moldiv He did take the girls to some hot springs for a swim and then for ice cream. 🙂

Processed with Moldiv For me… I spent the day at the Olympic Oval for the 2nd day of the track meet. I was able to talk one of the coaches into running with me. I was so grateful and it turned into a great run. I thought that I had to keep up with his pace and he thought that he had to keep up with mine… Yep… It turned into a great workout! We ran 13 miles total.

IMG_7761 We got back just in time to watch the 1st distance races start (the 800’s). I am so proud of the kids (not just the distance runners… The sprinters and field events also performed well)!!! 90% of them PR’d today and they were so excited. It was a good meet! I know this is just the beginning of the season and we have a lot of work ahead of us but it sure is fun to see their excitement at the start of the season!

Processed with Moldiv During the 200’s (97 heats of 200’s :/), a couple of the girls we coach and I went ice skating on the rink that is in the middle of the track. 🙂 (Sarah, I thought of you and your ice skating days when I struggled just to make it around the rink once…) It sure was fun but the skates rubbed my ankles raw.

Processed with Moldiv A few girls in our neighborhood wanted to do a movie night at our house tonight. We didn’t care… So about 8 or 9 kids came over for a movie. My girls, of course, had to act up! They get so excited when people come over…

Processed with Moldiv Corom and I ran to a wedding reception for just a few minutes… It’s always fun to run into people you haven’t seen for awhile!

Processed with Moldiv I guess you could say, it was a very in uneventful day. 😉

  1. I had to laugh at the title of this. Is it weird that I didn’t find it surprising that he bought a bus? What a nice surprise to come home to 🙂 Road trip!

    • He brought the bus home last night! It’s actually pretty cool. We took the girls to school in it today. They loved it!!!

  2. I cannot believe I forgot to comment on your skating! That rink looks soo fun. I actually went figure skating for the first time in 15 years this past weekend. It was fun but my feet have changed a lot due to the running. Runners are not meant to be skaters! Great work out there 🙂

    • I honestly don’t know how you skated… I was such a wimp! 🙂 my ankles hurt and then I was so sore afterwards from all the different muscles that I worked out!

      • Well I do have to say that real figure skates are ridiculously expensive ($1500 a pair!). So with that price you get a much better quality skate than those rentals. But running has also changed my feet and skates hurt to wear now. I would imagine that both made your situation more difficult!

  3. Great goods from you, man. I’ve remember your stuff
previous to and you are just too excellent. I really like what you have bought right here,
really like what you’re saying and the way in which through which you assert it.
You make it enjoyable and you continue to take care
of to stay it sensible. I can’t wait to read much
more from you. That is actually a tremendous web site.
