I met up with Lily and Amber this morning and ran an easy 7 mile recovery run in 54:34. It was a little hard for me to get going for a few reasons: 1) My legs were a little sore/heavy from yesterday’s workout. 2) I went to bed a little too late and woke up a little to early. 3) A couple of friends came over last night and it was my bright idea to order a pizza at 10 at night… Not the best idea. 🙂 The pizza tasted great (Dominos) but I didn’t feel all that great this morning… I made it through the run though…
Today’s workout was great! This was actually my 1st track workout all summer… Goes to show that I am starting a little late :). I am so grateful for all the ladies that showed up this morning. We went on a 2 1/2 mile warmup. We ran 6×800 repeats. We all went our own pace according to our 1/2 marathon to marathon goals. Half of us this morning are doing the Hobble Creek 1/2 marathon and the other few ladies are racing in the Park City marathon. So Rachelle, Melissa, Lily, Amber and I ran our 800s a little faster. Macenzie and Aubrey are doing the marathon… they put in more miles than us before we started and then ran the 800s with us. Rachelle and I kept a 6 minute mile pace (between 2:55s to 3:01). We were consistent with our pace. We jogged a 200 in-between each 800. Then we went on a 2 mile cool down. It was a great workout, but I am tired!
Corom and I had the opportunity to stay at the Homestead Resort 8/11 into 8/12. I actually won the over night stay in Runner’s Corner 15k (9.2 miles) last year. So we decided to celebrate our 10 year anniversary (3 months later) at the resort. We had so much fun. We rode our mountain bikes around, went swimming, went for a good 58:48 min run (this was Monday morning). Corom started to run with me but turned around after the 1st mile. He found me 20 min later on his mountain bike. We ran/biked to the top of Memorial Hill. I ran faster than what I planned to do due to the fact of Corom riding right next to me. It felt good though! I appreciate my sister for watching my kids so we could go do this.
