Run This Morning

January 7, 2014

I met up with Mac and Holly at 5 a.m. It was 18 degrees this morning… A lot warmer than yesterday! We ran for 8.25 miles together and then I ran 1.1 more at a faster pace. 9.35 miles in 1:11.51. I love talking with Holly about running. She ran for Nike and has qualified for the Olympic Trials back in her racing days (she still races and is still very competative, but she is not racing at that level anymore)… She is so knowledgable in running and she gives great advice! Thanks ladies!

      -8… that would kill me!

    • I am impressed with you working out inside! What is your plan for tomorrow?

      • Today I am trying all sorts of new online exercise videos to review for tomorrow. If it is warmer tomorrow I am hitting the pavement and for at least 6 or 7 miles. Saturday is going to be a heat wave at 38 and I plan on doing 10. Stir crazy here.

      • Yes… I would take advantage of the nice 38 degree heat wave! 🙂 Are you training for anything right now?

      • Trying to find a marathon that fits my schedule. Think I will do a half in March. How about you?

      • I have many halfs planned starting in 2 weeks but my main focus is to break 2:45 in the marathon this year. I have never raced a marathon (I have ran them, but not raced them if that makes sense) so I have decided that I want to do well. I never really enjoyed running that long. I have always liked the 5ks and 10ks. After the St. George marathon here in Utah last October something just sparked inside me and now I have the focus and desire to race it competitively. Sorry if I am just rambling. I need to get on a good schedule and figure out workouts… Have you ever thought of Boston? I am going in 2015… Finacially it didn’t work out for me this year, but next year!

      • I qualified for Boston and planned to go but they were over capacity. I would like to try to qualify again but will see if I find one that fits my schedule. I also wouldn’t mind if I couldn’t do it if starting a family was to happen. Fingers crossed.

      • Oh that is so exciting!!! I will cross my fingers… it is so worth it! I am happy for you.

      • Thanks so much. I look forward to chatting more in the future. I enjoy reading your posts.
