Biking, Track & Jaws… :)
Today was not to eventful… I did watch 4 extra kids throughout the day but it was pretty quiet. While the 2 older girls were in school, the 2 younger ones were invited to go to a friends to play for a couple of hours (and then I had kids over at my house). It was nice because I was able to go to the gym and use their spin bikes. Before I went on the spin bike, I tried out the elliptical… I did it for 10 min and then headed up to the spin room. I was all alone…
It gets boring but I had the fan to myself and I brought a book. š I rode for 54 minutes and then headed down to do the lat pulls. I am getting tired of riding a bike inside but I am grateful I am able and have access to the bikes.
After school got out, I went to track practice (I had the girls with me but they wanted to go home and play with a babysitter… So half way through a neighbor came over).
After the initial warmup and agilities, the distance runners went on a 1 1/2 mile warmup to the pond. We have a pretty steep hill (short but steep) that is excellent for hill repeats. I had them run 6-12 hills (depending on what shape they are in)… Surge up the hill at 80 percent effort, then recover back down.
It is a tough workout and by the end your legs are hurting! š The kids finished off with a 2 mile cool down. They did their 2×50 leg hops and did their stretching together.
It is Friday night, movie night for the girls. This is a fun night for them. It is a real treat because they only watch on average 2 movies a week. I don’t allow the T.V. on during the week. The girls don’t even ask anymore… It is nice because they just play!
The girls went to bed. Corom fell asleep so Z (our foreign exchange student) and I went to Amy F’s house (we grabbed Julie A. on our way up). We watched… JAWS. Now I don’t know how we decided to watch it but it sure was funny and a little disgusting. I think Julie and Z covered their eyes most the time. We did have some good junk food!
Sounds like a fun and busy day!
That’s what sad… this was actually a mild “day” for me. I do love it, though. I have to stay busy! š
I love how many athletes you have on your track team! Sounds like a fun day.
We do have a lot of kids on our team. There are about 140 as of right now and about 40 to 45 are distance runners. The rest are hurdlers, jumpers, sprinters, throwers, etc… but it is a fun, big team. As time goes by, we unfortunatley loose a few but that is normal.
