Said Our Goodbyes To Zep…
What a night last night… Corom had the worst toothache… I have never seen him in so much pain. We found a dentist that met up with him around midnight. He couldn’t take care of it so Corom had to come back home and wait it out until the morning. By 2 a.m. we finally went to bed. By 2:10 my oldest came in crying because her foot hurt. I rubbed her foot until she fell asleep. By 2:30ish, I finally went to bed. My alarm went off at 6 a.m. Even though it is taper week before my marathon on Saturday… Today was the “hard” day, my time trial. 7 miles with 2 miles at marathon pace. I felt pretty good for the lack of sleep. I could have ran better but what do you do. My 2.1 mile was 12 minutes. I was happy about that! I ran the entire run in 44:37.12 (it was less than 7 miles… More like 6.5-6.7). We went and took family pictures real quick before Corom had to go to his dentist appointment and work.
Zep (our foreign exchange student) is leaving today π¦ and we wanted one more picture with her. Corom had his teeth worked on for a little over 3 hours…
His mouth hurt him so bad afterwards. Thank goodness for pain meds…
The girls and I went to swim lessons…
Oh what a surprise… My youngest had to go into timeout again. She scares me so much around water!!! Zep was at home hanging out with all of her friends. Quite a few of them came over to say goodbye. She has made really good friends here. I made them all lunch and then it was time to leave.
The girls and I drove her to the airport (Corom was in too much pain :/). It was a quiet ride there. It was sad and weird to say goodbye. She has been with us for a long time now, that it seemed unreal that it was time to see her go home to Turkey. She will be missed! She is a beautiful girl… Inside and out). We said our goodbyes and then I did have to get back quick because there was supposed to be our last youth track meet, but it was cancelled (as I was driving home) due to weather. We had a good rainfall. Once it stopped, it was so beautiful out!!!
Zep sent a picture from the airport (she said it was for her)…
Corom had a church meeting (he is feeling so much better) and then joined me for our youth activity (church activity). We played broom hockey and then ate treats. It was so much fun!
I did stop off at a friend’s house on the way home to support her. She had a jewelry party… I am not into jewelry or anything like that but this jewelry was really cute! (The picture didn’t turn out.) Today was a busy day, but what day isn’t? π
So glad to hear Corom is feeling better. How sad to see your exchange student go. When I was a little girl my dad’s parents had several exchange students over the years. My dad’s brother was still living at home and we would spend so much time with them. It was very special to me. Several of them came back to visit over the years. Our Belgian “brother” sent his daughter to our wedding last summer and he is coming with his family this summer and with our “French” brother and his family. I hope she continues to stay in your lives and you can watch her grow.
