Back To Speed, Lunch, Play and Trail Running
I met up with Rachelle, Amber and Melissa for an 8 1/2+ mile run. We started off with an easy pace and then added in 90 seconds fast/hard with a 60 second recovery. I ran 7 x 90 seconds. Oh it kicked my butt! I don’t know what my pace was except for the last one… It was a 5:10 pace and it hurt. We ran for 1:02:36 minutes. I felt good after I finished. π I went around to the different elementary schools today to propose a fun “fitness” idea to get the schools/community united. My friend Beth did it for her school and it went really well. It is the 13.1 to 26.2 mile activity. I think everyone is all on board. Then some friends/neighbors and I went out to lunch and 3 girls came over to babysit all of our kids.
we had a great time. Then a few kids and moms stayed at my house and the kids played in the backyard and on the bounce house… It was a great entertainer!
We went to a neighbor’s house for dinner, then Corom went to a church meeting, the girls went to the other cross country coaches house (hung out with Marti and the kids) and I went on our Thursday night trail run with the cross country kids. We went out for 37:24.20 minutes.
We had a great time. My legs were dead from this morning but it was fun. We did have a couple of battle wounds but it wouldn’t be a trail run without a fall.
Oh before I met up with the cross country kids my car broke down as I dropped my kids off at Marti’s house. π¦ No good… Hopefully Corom can fix it in the morning. After the kids went to bed, I went to a Relief Society (church) activity that was being held at a neighbor’s house down the street. We are doing a movie night, outside… We are supposed to bring our own chairs… So Corom took it into his own hands and brought my chair for me. π
What a man… I was comfortable! We had a good time. I ate 2 candy bars, a bag of popcorn, and drank a lot of soda. I couldn’t stop because it was right there! π We watched Ever After and had about 20 ladies there. Good times.
LOL with the chair. Sadly up here in Michigan that is something hill billy-ish we see people doing out of the norm. You have the funniest husband. Awesome work with the speed work. I have a love/hate relationship. I dread it because I know it is going to be hard, go all out and feel terrible at the time, and then feel sooo good after!
That was how I was feeling when I got up in the morning to do the speed. I dreaded it and then towards the 2nd half of the speed my attitude started to change. That’s just because I knew I was almost done. π
