Lake To Lake Relay, Spear Fishing & All The Usual Activities…

February 29 Mon: I went out for an 8 mile easy run (about a 7:45 min mile average). It felt good after the 1st couple of miles. 🙂 The rest of the day was busy with our monthly PTO meeting, working in my 2nd daughter’s classroom, going to the dentist (for a dang root canal) and then to track practice. Today was the 1st official day of outdoor track.

We had Family Home Evening and then shortly after our 200 lb. puppy ran out in the middle of the road and was hit and ran over by a truck. :/ The poor driver. We did let him know it was completely our fault! Miraculously he popped up and ran back to the yard.

March 1st-4th Tues-Fri: My phone is acting up and I’m unable to get some pictures and take pictures so I’m going to combine days together. I had great runs this week. T: 8 miles and an insanity workout at the gym (Corom came with me); W: 8 miles with 6 x 1 min fartlek and the rest of the run was at a hard pace; Th: 7 easy miles; F: 4 miles with strides.

We had play dates, I worked in the girl’s classrooms, worked at the clarion, there was gymnastics, and many more…

 There was track practice everyday…

And then on Friday, one of the moms (her daughter’s on track) called me asking if Corom was home to help them move… Corom did go up but I decided to send the distance team up for their work out. They ran 4 miles before, helped them move, and then 2 miles after. The HS kids were so excited to help. (Maybe because they got out of running more… Who knows. :)) The mom was so impressed and the move went quickly! The distance kids are so awesome!! I actually had to leave because I was doing a 50 mile relay race in St. George. There were 4 other ladies that I met up with (and really met for the 1st time). We drove down and had a fun time; dinner, meeting, hanging out, etc. I was more excited that night as I went to bed because these ladies were amazing!

March 5th Sat: A very fun Saturday for not only me but with Corom and the girls. I will start with the girls and Corom… He decided to take the girls spear fishing, swimming and canoeing (with Mike Fullmer). The girls loved it!

My youngest enjoyed the fish a little too much…
I was with the ladies in St. George running the Lake to Lake 50 mile relay race. That, too, was so much fun! Amazing group of ladies in talent and personality! We ended up taking 1st in the all women’s division and 6 overall. There was a all men’s Vegas team that gave us quite the competition. We were back and forth with them throughout the race. (We ended up coming in before them but not by much.) I ran the 5th leg and 10th (it was a 5 person team). My 1st leg was 3.9 miles and the 2nd was 7.2.

We had a nice drive home and Corom and I with some friends watched a movie.

March 6th- 11th; Sun-Fri: I went out every morning for a run. I ran between 7-8 miles on Mon, Wed, Thurs & Fri. Some days, really slow and some at a good decent pace. On Wednesday I met up with the ladies from my team I ran with over at the relay. And on Friday i met up with Amber and Rachelle. Tuesday, I ran 3 miles total, did a 45 min spin class and did a quick insanity routine. It was a good week. I worked in the girl’s classrooms, PTO stuff, church stuff (meetings and visiting), the girls played with friends and then there was track practice everyday & spike night, gymnastics, etc. A busy week and me lacking on the blogging!

So much going on and I have been horrible keeping up on my days! 🙂 Good times!

Spirit Week, Playing, St. George Trip…

Monday-Friday Feb 22-26th: I did get up and run every morning this week; an average of 7-8 miles. I felt great for the most part. 🙂 I did sub in my kindergartener’s class all week. It was fun seeing my girls all week.

It was actually “spirit week” for the elementary school that we (the PTO) put on.  It was fun subbing and being able to participate in all the activities.  Friday we had a crossfit guy come in and work with the kids. They loved it.

This week consisted of playing, making treats, gymnastics, track & track meetings, church, etc.

 Well lots of playing…

Corom and my oldest did have a daddy daughter dance at the school (well it was partner/child dance)…
Friday-Sunday Feb 26th-28th: The girls, Corom and I went to St. George this weekend with the Barney’s and Chases. It was very nice and relaxing. Well I did go for a 10+ mile run on Saturday but the weekend consisted of swimming…

And hiking…

In very tight places that freaked me out but I still went through it. :/

Movies,
games, accidents

and eating…
We left Sunday morning to get back in time for church. We did run into car trouble (a hole in one of the hoses). So we cut up a soda can, got duct tape and partched it up. 😁 It worked and we got back in time to get to church on time…

Church was good. The girls and I went to my sisters house for dinner and to celebrate my little brother’s birthday…

Simplot Games, Family & Life

Friday-Monday Feb 12th-15th: I will begin with my running. I ran 8 on Friday, 10 on Saturday and 8 on Monday.  The smog and inversion has been so bad the past couple of weeks! Very hard to breathe!

The rest of the weekend was busy with Valentine’s stuff and hanging out with Corom’s family. Friday was busy with helping in all the classrooms, I subbed for a couple of hours in between helping in classrooms (and Corom was able to take a little time off to help)…

My 3 older girls went to walk through the new Provo temple with all their cousins during lunch (and then came back in time for their class parties). I headed off to an indoor track meet…
While Corom and the girls went with all the family to the ice castles in Midway…
The kids and the cousins had fun playing in the snow, hanging out and just being around all weekend.

The family left Monday morning… That evening we went to a families house for dinner and family night. Great family and a lot of fun.

Tuesday Feb 16th: I went out for an 8 mile run. It felt great and the air was finally clean! I did sub today for my 2nd daughter’s 2nd grade class. Corom stepped in for a few minutes and of course the kids loved it! He took my youngest home (after kindergarten) and took her on a bike ride. We all met up (my 3 older kids, the kids I take home from school, Corom and my youngest-and our 2 dogs) at the HS. They walked home and I stayed there for track. I sent the HS kids off on their distance run and then went home.

There were the normal church meetings tonight for Corom so just the usual tonight.

Wednesday Feb 17th: I went out for another 8 mile run. I felt lousy today. It was not a good run! Oh well, it happens. Today was errand busy and we went on RS visits before my kindergartener got out. A few moms met up at Carl’s Jr. for lunch and to let the kids play. My youngest and her neighbor friend sold rocks to the Jr. High kids… They actually made a little over $2 just from some really nice kids. 🙂 After we picked up the girls from school, we walked them to Activity Day’s.

Thursday-Saturday Feb 18th-20th: I headed up to Idaho with the track team for The Simplot Games. Of course my 2nd child starts throwing up last night… Corom worked a half day and took over while I had to leave. She felt so much better but we didn’t want to send her to school just in case. The weekend was a blast! We shared a bus with one of our rival schools and it was so good for both teams.  Great performances by the distance runners and by everyone on our team actually!

Many of our athletes made it to finals after their prelims performance and many more PR’d.

What made the trip even better was having my family come on Friday evening. My family (the other coaches family came) and the team had our pizza, swim and game “party”. It was nice having the kids and Corom up there.

They came to the meet for a little while…I had the opportunity to meet a few Olympians there (they stayed at the same hotel). Carl Lewis was one of them that came, so it was neat seeing him. Corom took the 3 younger girls and one of the daughters of the  other coach home with him. My oldest stayed and rode the bus home with me. It was a fun trip back.

We went up to a friend’s house in WH for games and hanging out. It has been a while since our group has gotten together (Olsens, Fullmer’s, Levitts).  The girls had fun but we all stayed up too late! Oh… I did ride the bike on Thursday and warmed up with one of the distance runners (a couple of miles) so she wouldn’t have to do it alone. Friday was a 6 mile run with a couple of other coaches. And Saturday, I went out for a 7 mile run. 🙂

Sunday Feb 21st: Corom and I both had church meetings this morning and then went to church. After we went to our families house for dinner. It was really nice visiting with them! It’s been a while.

Tooth Fairies, Super Bowl, Sledding, Running, Work, School, Family & More

Wednesday Feb 3rd: I went out for a cold run. I think it was about 8 miles. I felt great this morning! I pushed the pace and it was much needed. 🙂

My youngest and I met up with a couple of other moms and their kindergartener’s for a sledding play date. It was so much fun. I was having fun going down the hill!

The 2 older girls had Activity Days, and then the 3 older went to piano lessons…. My youngest and I went on RS visits.

Thursday Feb 4th: I went out for an 8 mile run, came home, got the kids ready for school and after dropping them off went to the local gym. I once again did an Insanity class.

At track, the girls had a little race with one of the throwers… It was quite the entertainment!

The girls went to gymnastics and had a blast doing it…

Friday Feb 5th: I went out for another 8 mile run. I felt good even battling a head cold (I’ve had it for a little over a week now).

I took the girls to school, went to a good friend of mine dad’s funeral. It was a great service. I ran to the hospital right after because an elderly neighbor of mine broke her femur. 😟

I told the girls we could do movie night tonight… My oldest invited all the girls in her class. They had a fun time with lots of snacks.

Saturday Feb 6th: I met up with Mac and Aubrey for an 11 mile run. They went out 8 with me and I just ran the last 3 alone. It was great meeting up with them. I took the girls to our library… They had fun activities for the kids.  They had crafts…

 Food and an animal show…

Corom went snow hiking up a mountain and then snow boarded down with a friend of his.

That afternoon, we went to the grocery store and collected money and food for our local food band. That was a great experience.

Sunday Feb 7th: The girls were on one this morning. I had them get ready for church and then they just messed around all morning. My youngest did get mad at me… She said, “Mom, you are worse than satan right now.” Oh boy… Coming from her, I will take that as a compliment.

We went to church and then headed up to the Fullmer’s house for a Super Bowl “party”.

I didn’t know who the 2 teams were going into the Bowl but I was really excited about eating the food.

Monday Feb 8: I went out for an 8 mile run. The inversion is so bad here that it made running hard to breathe. I seriously tasted the air pollution in my mouth. :/ But the run was good. I worked in my 3rd daughter’s classroom for just a little bit…

And then I headed up to a city youth track meeting (with all the cities). Then my youngest and I went back to the emergency room because our sweet elderly neighbor (the one that broke her femur) had to go back due to pain. 😦 The ladies at the front watched my youngest while I went back to her room.

The girls had fun at track with me…

And then we had dinner and FHE with a few families.

Tuesday 9th: I went out for a 7 mile run (in the inversion) again. It was a good run but once again hard to breath. I had a bad cough the rest of the day but at least I got a good run in. 🙂 I took a picture of my carpool every morning (you can’t see 2 of the kids). It is always an adventure!

I helped in my youngest’s kindergarten class this morning…

Corom had a half day so I went to track without the girls today…

I came home from track with a lot of stuff going on. My 2 younger girls each lost a tooth this afternoon (both of them yanked it out… They were not ready to come out :/).

(The tooth fairy came… Just before bed, we noticed the girls put their teeth in 2 separate bowls of water. They informed us that another kid at school told them that the tooth fairy will leave her color behind in the water. Great… One more thing to do. :/ So Corom was in charge of that tonight. He put the food coloring in and I guess forgot to put the food coloring back in the box. The next morning the girls saw the food coloring by the bowls and then the main box on Corom’s dresser. Yes we had to make up something. It was cheesy but it was something about our toothfairy not knowing what to do because it never had to do that before so we helped her out. :/) Anyway…

My oldest was making apple pie along with the younger 3’s help (I caught them doing the Lady and the Tramp move)…

Wednesday Feb 10th: My oldest had some hard times this morning, she also got the bar of soap a couple of times.

I had to go to the school early for a PTO Valograms thing. My girls were a big help!

I also had to sub my daughter’s kindergarten class this morning.

My daughter cried a lot in class today. :/ Oh goodness… I hope that doesn’t happen often. I took my youngest sledding after kindergarten got out. The little girls had fun.

I ran on the treadmill for a little over 5 miles. It wasn’t too bad! After school, I took the 2 older girls to Actvity Days, then the 3 older girls went to piano. I found a babysitter and Corom and I went with the Fullmer’s to the Banff Film Festival. It’s a bunch of short outdoor films. They were amazing!

Thursday Feb 11th: I did not go out on a run this morning… I had to get to the school early (with all the kids I pick up) for the valograms… Then I went straight to work at the Clarion Event Center.

I enjoyed working today. Well I really like working there every time I do it. The girls had gymnastics. They are loving it!

We headed straight up to my sister-in-laws house. All of Corom’s family just came into town. They are here for the weekend.

Fun times with lots of chaos.

A Weeks Worth-Ice Skating, Track, School & Life!

Wednesday Jan 27th: I went out for an 7 or 8 mile run, took the kids to school, then went to an insanity class at the gym. It was a good workout.

For a play date, my youngest and I met up with some friends at Carl’s Jr. We let the kids play for a while.  It was nice to visit and the kids had fun.

The girls came home and just did their normal stuff… I love it!

They had piano, then I had a sitter come over while I went out on RS visits. Corom worked late tonight.

Thursday Jan 28th: I went out on a 7 mile run this morning. It felt good after about the 4th mile. I hung out at the elementary school all morning and into the early afternoon for a Zumba day (the PTO put on). I didn’t do all the routines but I did a lot of them. I was tired!  But the kids loved it!!!

I did skip out for a little while to help in my kindergartener’s class.

For track, we started inside, then finished with the run and strides outside. It was a fun run for these kids.

The girls had gymnastic… They are loving it!!

Friday Jan 29th: I went out for an 7-8 mile run and then came home to wake the household up. I took all the kids (my kids and neighbor kids) to school and stayed to help with an assembly.

I left shortly after to go work at The Clarion Event Center.

I went straight from that to grab the girls from school and we all headed up to the Olympic Oval (a skating rink with a track around it) for an indoor track meet. The track is longer than a 400 (425 I believe). So we watched the HS kids race on the outside of the skating rink,

and then while we were ice skating.

Sarah… I thought of you while my kids were skating around. They picked it up so fast… Me not so much.

It was a late track meet; the girls and I didn’t get home until 10:45. Corom went on a scout camp out. I was going to have a babysitter come but decided against it. I was going to be paying a babysitter $40 so I decided to pay $40 on ice skating. 😉 Good memories and the girls loved it!

Saturday Jan 30th: Ugh… I didn’t get a run in. With Corom being gone for a good part of the day, I just never got around to it. :/ We spent the day cleaning and lounging around. We had a few people over for a movie night. My kids made some desserts, and then the kids watched a movie upstairs and the adults downstairs.

Sunday Jan 31st: We went to church today. The girls were good. We had 3 older couples over for dinner. It was very pleasant and great company!

Monday Feb 1st: I went out for a 6 mile slow, slow run. It felt like I was running on sand. We had a great amount of snow. I absolutely loved it and it has been a while since I’ve really enjoyed running!  I’ve been struggling mentally on having to get up and out there in the cold, but this morning was nice.

I went to head up the PTO/PTA meeting and then straight to my kindergartener’s classroom to help with the 100th day activity.

My oldest went to some robotics class after school and the 3 younger girls and I went to track.

I visited a really good friend of mine (with the RS presidency)… Her dad passed away. We are so sad for her. We did have a nice visit. Corom took the girls to a few neighbors homes to help shovel off their driveway while I was gone. We met up and had our family home evening and talked of Service.

Tuesday Feb 2nd: Once again I slept in and didn’t go out for a run. I hate it but what do you do?? :/ I did sub in the kindergarten class (not my daughter’s but the other one). It was a little tough today. The kids were hyper for some reason but it’s all good.  I played games with them accordingly. 🙂 Good old Simon Says.

We (my kindergartener and I) hung out in the lunch room for a little while before heading home.

Corom came home early from work so I went to track alone. They ran a 6 mile run with a little bit of speed, then did a 20-30 min insanity workout.

That evening, Corom had church meetings and I went out VTing. I stopped off at a friend’s house for a “cleaning/cloth” party for a few minutes but then it was back to the house and the bedtime routine.
