Let December Begin!

We started our daily Christmas activity. We have a calendar that holds an activity in it each day until Christmas…

I feel like I am more excited about it then the rest of the family… I am a cheese ball that way, though! The 1st activity was to decorate the house…

And to write their letter to Santa Claus (our friend John Patching came over for dinner, dessert and the letter writing. He thought it was pure entertainment all night with the 4 girls)…

The girls came up with some funny stuff… Something to hold on to for sure! Z (our Foriegn Exchange student) was making a dessert while the girls were writing their letters… I told her she, too, has to write a letter to Santa. It was funny though because Corom was inspecting her clean up skills.

Z informed us that she never did any chores at home, never had to clean, or anything because she always talked her mom into doing it… Corom is so good with her… He has a way with getting her to clean things and do things that I would have a hard time telling her what to do. He turns everything into a joke, so she thinks it’s funny and will clean. It has been a lot if fun having her here. Hard at times on both ends but a great experience!!! We treat her like our own… Poor girl. 🙂
While all this is going on, our youngest is bored with writing a letter, so she decides to empty out the bathroom trash… Honestly, what is wrong with our child. She thinks it is funny!!!

I took her dessert away and of course we had some good friends (the Barney’s) stop by with cupcakes… Before I knew it, our youngest had 2 cupcakes that she was shoving in her mouth. I grabbed what I could and threw it away. Yes, everyone was laughing which doesn’t help.

That Warm Sensation!

So you know that great feeling you get when you’re attending a religious meeting and you hear something that makes you feel so warm and fuzzy from the inside out. That is how I felt today during a testimony meeting. Those few individuals that had the courage to stand up in front, I give them praise. I was unable myself to do so today but I did feel that warm sensation. Unfortunately that warmness started from the outside-in this time. My youngest who had just fallen asleep on my lap became really relaxed and let loose of her bladder control all over my lap and the warm “fuzzies” to the floor.

This is our way back to church after going home to change.

Fun Time With the Family

All of us (Corom’s family) went to the movies. We went and saw Despicable Me.

My youngest took so many potty breaks (at least 5 or 6 times) but we still enjoyed the movie.
When we returned my friend, running buddy and pacing partner for the Thankful 13 half stopped by my sister-in-laws house (Yolanda’s) with a special and inside joke award.

Long story short… We had a great time pacing and we paced with great people. At the finish we found out we took 3rd and 4th. (Beth sent me a text letting me know they called her up to get the 3rd place award.) Well the results came out a day later and I was ahead of her by a second. So she came to deliver the award and a pacing sash… It was so funny and so unexpected. Very creative! It was so much fun getting to know Beth better!
After dinner Corom and I and his other siblings and their families and Sarah all went to the:

(Festival of Lights). We went there with our girls being way tired and cranky. I thought they would change when they saw the lights but for the 1st half of the loop they fought who was standing where, etc.

The 2nd half of the loop they all found their placing… Still a little cranky but not too bad… More enjoyable is the right word. 🙂 I do love the Christmas season!

Too Close of an Encounter!

We were all cleaning house and packing up our things at grandma Sarah’s house (Jarom- Corom’s oldest brother- and his family are driving home today). Our youngest decides to lock herself in the car (as we are loading stuff in the cars)…and of course the keys are in the car. I am actually downstairs cleaning out the room the girls stayed in (with Sarah), unaware of all of this, when Christina (Jarom’s wife) comes running in telling me to get outside. She tells us that my 4th backed the car out, and hit a tree and backed into a ditch. At first I thought she was joking…

What freaks me out is how different this situation could have been! I guess she put the key in the ignition and put the car in neutral (she didn’t start the car). Naturally, with the car in neutral, it rolled back with the down hill. Thank goodness it went across the street and hit the tree (which the car knocked it over) to stop the car and ran into the ditch. Very lucky on many different accounts!!!

Jarom ran after the van and told us that she got knocked around pretty good. She was okay (thank goodness) but freaked out!

My Legs Were Burning!

I did not get up on time to meet the ladies this morning so I stepped out of my mother-in-law’s house and ran straight up the hill (in Woodland Hills). The 1st mile up I ran into a bunch of turkeys… All I thought was, these turkeys are lucky they survived through this Thanksgiving…

20131130-101540.jpg
There were at least 50 of them! I ran for 40 min but I felt so out of shape running these hills and up in this altitude! My legs were burning just as bad as doing a hard and intense speed workout. I ran it hard today just to get a good quality run in because I knew I was not going to be able to get a long run in. I ran a little over 5 miles but as I said just a sec ago… It was tough and a good/hard run! As I was on the run down to finish this little dog came chasing after me. It was nipping at my ankle. I had to stop and I tried kicking it many times. Finally, I bent over to pick up a rock and the dog took off…

Little dogs are the worst when it comes to running!!! Anyway… I ran a good, solid run this morning! I need to come up here more often to run. Great work out…
