We went up the canyon for scouts tonight. We roasted hot dogs and 3 of our boys received their Arrow of Light.

The girls went exploring and climbed everything in sight…

It began to rain right when we were finishing up. We packed up and left and this is what we got to see all the way back home…

Beautiful!!! I could not capture the entire rainbow. (There were 2 full sized rainbows.)
It was hot and muggy this afternoon. We sent the runners on a Fartlek run. 2 mile warm up with a 3 mile tempo 90 seconds fast, 90 second recovery, etc.) and then a 2 1/2 mile cool down. The last half was on the grass barefoot. The 90 sec fast was not an all out fast… It was just to get their legs turning over (and because it was hot).
I just picked up my oldest from school and asked how her day was… She answered, “It was good but I have been tooting all day.” I said, “Gross! Did the kids around you get grossed out?” She replied, “No because they were quiet but they smelt so bad! They thought it was the boy next to me because he toots all the time.” I couldn’t help but laugh and that got her laughing. We couldn’t stop. I hope I didn’t teach her a bad habit…
Mac, Aubrey, Amber, Rachelle and I started off with a warm up (I ran a min 15 warm up). Then we began our 6×1200 repeats. (1200’s are 3/4 of a mile; 3 laps around the track and we ran 6 of those.) We ran on a trail that loops around. It is 3/4 of a mile around, so it is perfect to do this workout on it.

The warm up before the work out…

They are getting ready to start their 1200’s! My 1st one was a 4:14, 2nd was a 4:11, 3rd was a 4:05, 4th was a 4:07, 5th was a 4:11, and 6th was a 3:56. I was tired! We then ran a 20 min cool down run. I feel better now that that work out is done! Thanks ladies for doing these with me and pushing me!
At 2:06 this morning I wake up to a loud car horn and it is not letting up. I hit Corom next to me to wake him up. He shoots out if bed, realizing it is our car. He runs outside and for who knows what reason our car’s horn is blaring (we don’t have a car alarm). It took almost 6 minutes to finally stop the horn. He began hitting the steering wheel to stop it; that didn’t work. He lifted up the hood and tried something else; that didn’t work. Finally he figured out what spark plug went to the horn and yanked it out… Ahhh silence! Now here I am in bed trying to go to sleep… Sorry neighbors!!! (It was so loud!)
