Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday… Running: I met up with Jeff (on Wed.), supposedly for a recovery run… But it didn’t feel like a recovery. My legs are beat! We ran 11 miles at 1:13.39. I’ve just been exhausted. On Thursday, Jeff, Amber and I ran the Harry’s hill loop. We went for 12.5 miles (in 1:30.44). We did a 4 mile “tempo” down from Harry’s (I averaged about a 6:10-6:20 pace for the 4 miles). I am still tired though. Friday I met up with Danny and Blake and went for a 9 mile run in 1:10. It was a great recovery run. We hopped on the river trail and went at a slower pace. A much needed run. This morning I met up with Amber and Rachelle… What a beautiful morning!!!
We ran 14 miles (they finished at 15). It was a good run… My legs just felt tired!!!
I finished off in 1:42.53. I was glad to be done!!!
Wednesday-Friday… School Stuff & after school stuff: Every morning before school, the girls and I helped with the valograms (Valentine handouts).
The PTO board went out to breakfast (on Friday)… The secretary is moving and we are all so bummed!
Corom and I were able to help in the girls classrooms for their Valentine’s party’s…
The girls worked on their Valentine cards, they played and of course got hurt along the way…
Our nephew and his friends came by to decorate our bus… They are having Corom (and Corom’s brother, Jarom) drive them and their dates around for the HS Sweetheart’s dance (Friday night). They had so much fun, but Corom seems to always be the entertainment!…
Indoor Track: The HS kids practice on their own on Wednesdays and on Thursday they went on a 5 1/2 to 7 mile easy to moderate run. Some of the kids have a track meet on Friday and most are going to the sweethearts dance. Which leads to Friday night… I took a handful of kids to the Olympic Oval indoor track for the meet. They raced really well!!! One of the sophomores pulled off a 30 second PR in his mile! And of course we had to stop and get Jamba Juice (smoothies) for our drive home! 🙂
Valentine Dinner With The Girls: Corom made a fun and yummy fondu dinner for the girls and I! The girls loved it. We celebrated with them on Thursday night because Corom’s brother and his family are driving into town this weekend.
Saturday… Valentines Day: After my run… we (Corom & the girls, Corom’s mom & Gary, Corom’s sister & her kids & Corom’s brother & his family) took the bus, hiked the Y and then went to the Creamery for lunch.
The hike was a pretty good hike. Steep up! The girls did really well. On the way out, we saw a couple sitting at a park enjoying their Valentine’s Day. So Corom told the girls to take one of the balloons from the bus (it was from the dance last night)… And run it down to them. It was a little funny… (Especially being in the bus)…
Corom and I went to dinner (with the Fullmers) at the Clarion Event Center. We did leave our kids with the older cousins.
Dinner was excellent!!! We had prime rib, raspberry chicken, lemon chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, salad, rolls, desserts and more. It was wonderful!!!
The best part… It was all you can eat! 🙂 We danced to a live band… Good food and good company.
The kids had fun with their cousins and we had a good night.
Sunday: We went to church today. The girls were really good and church was great. I had a couple of meeting after church (so did Corom)… The girls came with me. 🙂 The girls and I headed up to my sister’s house for a BBQ. My little brother and his wife and girl came and our aunt Georgia. The kids had fun playing with their cousins!
We came home to Corom and a house full youth and leaders… They were here for a fireside.
Monday: I went out for a easy to moderate run. I felt good this morning.
I’m starting to get back into the zone of training again. I love what is ahead but I also dread what is ahead. 🙂 I babysat for a little while this morning and then had to get a babysitter for my youngest (and the other 2 kids I babysit went somewhere else) so I could attend a meeting with all the youth track coaches in Utah county. We had to set up our meets and practices and go over all the fun things…
I love coaching the kids of our city! It is a blast… Well the high school kids do the coaching… The girls went to a friends house while I went to track practice. The kids went on a 8-10 mile run.
I took out my 3rd daughter tonight and Corom took out our youngest (neither one of us took pictures though) and then we had family night.
The girls make it very entertaining. We all went to bed early… I think I went to bed at 9 but by 11 p.m. 2 of my kids ended up in our bed. I was so tired that I ended up on the couch and (I noticed the next morning) that Corom was on the top bunk of our youngest’s bed. One of those nights…
Tuesday: Well I began my 1st speed workout today with 6 x wonderful 800’s. I ran a 15:30 (2 mile) warmup before I began my speed. My 1st one: 2:33 and I finished off the mile with a 6:09; 2nd: 2:31, 6:12; 3rd: 2:32, 6:10; 4th: 2:34, 6:08; 5th: 2:35, 6:09; 6th: 2:35, 6:10. I ran the 1st 3 way to fast and had to hold on to the last 3. I really was dead but I’m glad I finished all 6 (I wanted to be done after the 4th but I kept thinking of my hill surge repeat workout that I didn’t finish). I ran into Amber on my cool down… It was nice to see her because we ran together for a little while. I ran the 2 miles home (14:20) and ran right in to get the girls ready for school. Corom and I had a little argument this morning… And one of the girls asked me if we were getting a divorce. We had to explain to her that just because we argue at times does not mean we are getting a divorce. (We argued over a faucet… Lame!
But it happens.) It was kind of cute but it also made me think. I was able to work in my oldest’s classroom today and my mother-in-law worked in my 2nd daughter’s classroom. I did help out my friend and watched her little girl, so she came with me. 🙂
I did get a phone call today from our loan agency for our house. Apparently… We haven’t made a house payment since we have lived here. Crap… That made me sick! So 3 hours of being on the phone and doing the conference calls with our bank and the bank for our mortgage… Money has been taken out every month it was just a matter of figuring out where it was going.
We figured it out but it’s going to be a mess to get it all straightened out! For track today, I ran with the HS kids for their warmup (19 minutes) about 2 1/2 miles. We ran to Christensen’s loop and did 1200 repeats. I did get another 7 minutes of running back and forth during their speed and then ran for another 20:41 minute for their cool down. So I was able to get 15 miles in today. 🙂 The babysitter had all the girls homework done and then we were able to work on their Valentine box.
Corom went with Mike to Bamff film festival and I had the ladies over for bachelor night!
Thursday: I met up with Amber for the wonderful Harry’s hill loop. She wanted to tempo 4 miles again once we reached the top. I was more than happy to help her reach her mark.
At mile 4 we did not hit a 6:28. 🙂 I paused the workout due to dog trouble… We had to walk a little ways to pass them. Anyway… It was a good run and she was able to hit the times she wanted. Corom, Mike and Travis drove the 3 hours to Hatch to pick up our 25 passenger bus and 12 passenger van. They left around 8 a.m. and didn’t get home until about 7 p.m. They had fun with a little difficulties (with the van… The bus runs great).
I was able to attend the temple with my friend, Denise this morning after the kids went to school. It has been way too long and much needed.
My mother-in-law picked up my 2 younger girls from school until I got back. They had fun with her (McDonalds and playing). The girls went with me to track today. They did hill surges, while the girls played with a couple of kids from school.
Megan & her daughter and Amy Fullmer came over for dinner. Then Megan and I went to bunko at a friend’s house. Corom and I got home at the same time tonight. Busy day!
Friday: I met up with Danny and went on a 10 mile run in 1:14.09. I shut off my “map my run” at 9.7… So of course we ran a few more minutes to finish off 10.
And of course the girls wanted to take the bus to school today… They thought they were so cool. 🙂
I had a coaches track meeting today. We went over all our workouts for the season and I guess coaching stuff. 🙂 I had about 13 extra kids today that played around the house (it was all the neighbor kids)… Of course we had to make cookies! I had lots of help!
Corom went on a camp out with the scouts and at least 7 other leaders! They all had fun! I hung out with Megan and Karley for a little while and then came home, put the girls to bed and watched a movie. 🙂
Saturday: I met up with Mac, Aubrey and Amber, and went out for 2:04.02 minutes. I didn’t have a gps at all but I’m assuming I went out for 16 miles. It was a good run. I took the girls to the library for activities, crafts and an animal show from Wild Wonders. The girls had a blast!
Corom was going to come with us to the library but got distracted with the neighbor kids and the bike ramps out in the field behind us.
We took the girls through the car wash… One of their favorite things to do.
Then headed to Salt Lake to pick up Kitty (our English Mastiff). We had her mate with a 220 lb English Mastiff. We will see what we get in 2 months!
We did hang out with some friends of ours in Salt Lake and then headed to Rachelle’s pool (in the bus of course) to swim.
The Barney’s went to the pool with us, came over for dinner and then game night. We had a few others over for game night. (Corom and Travis did play a little game before everyone came over… A couple of dorks!) 🙂
Tuesday: I went out on a 10 mile run with hill surge repeats. Jeff joined me this morning (he already went out for 7 1/2 before we met up… So I asked him to send me his Garmin splits from 8-18 miles). 8. 7:27; 9. 7:31; 10. 7:15; 11. 7:07;
12. 7:00; 13. 6:57; 14. 7:56; 15. 8:16;
16. 7:20; 17. 6:51; 18. 7:20… I ran 10 1/2 miles in 1:18.44. We ran 5 miles before we got to Hazel Dr. to begin the short hill repeats… I wanted to do 10 but I could only do 8. My legs were jello and I felt nauseous. Oh I felt out of shape. We ran 2 1/2 miles after the hills. I am a little disappointed that I didn’t finish the last 2 but I still got a good workout in. I was able to go help in my oldest’s classroom today. I love being able to help in the girl’s classroom!
For track… Some of the runners were tired! But the distance runners did go on a recovery run of 50-60 minutes. They just went on an adventure run.
I was able to take my oldest out on our “date”. We rode our bikes to the grocery store to go buy an ice cream.
I love how the weather has been so great that we were able to ride our bikes! I do feel bad because she had a flat on her way back from the store but she didn’t care. 🙂 Corom went to a work dinner and I dealt with a couple of fights and melt downs…
But miraculously they all fell asleep by 7:15. 🙂 Corom came home and I went to Steph’s house to meet up with 5 friends to watch the Bachelor. Late night, good snacks and worth it!
Wednesday: I met up with Mac, Aubrey and Amber for the first 7 miles and then ran an additional 3 1/2 on my own. I ran 10 1/2 in 1:21.34. I was sore from yesterday’s hills so this was a nice recovery run. I babysat today for my friend… It was so nice out that we had a picnic out in the front yard. I love this February weather!!!
The girls played with neighbors every chance they got today (after piano, homework and activity days)… So every time in between…
The balls were a nightmare today! They were all on the outside and not in the pool. 🙂 Corom does work late tonight but he did come home briefly to pick up Kitty. We decided we wanted to mate her with another monster English Mastiff. She will spend the week with this other family and dog… So we shall see what will happen!
My youngest decided to hop in the bathtub (right before dinner)… With all her clothes on.
It was very nice tonight because my 2 younger ones went to their rooms around 6:20-6:30 and fell right asleep. The 2 older ones… A different story, but as long as they stay in their room from 7 on… I don’t care what they do (talk, read, etc.). I, too was able to go to bed early!
Sunday: I woke up grumpy today! I don’t know why… Just one of those mornings. I feel bad because I was very short and impatient with the girls… Trying to get them ready for church was difficult. But we made it on time and the girls were really good today! The girls and I sat right in front of our friends, the Booths… I can honestly say that sitting in front of them changed my mood. When we sang the opening song and then the Sacrament song… Hearing the voices of papa Booth and the 2 sons was incredible!!! 🙂 Happy Sunday! I guess I did have feelings of jealousy and envious over wishing I could sing. 😉 Really though, my mood did change and the rest of the day was great. We had a guest speaker come to our ward today to talk with all the adults in the 3rd hour. He talked on suicide and depression (mainly in kids and teenagers). It was a good open discussion. So sad though on how many people are really hurting inside! It breaks my heart!
After church we ended up at the Booth’s house (Jason & Nicole’s) for a little Super Bowl fun.
I love the Super Bowl for the sake of the food! I would say for the commercials but they have not been the best (I think) for the past couple of years… Now I was pretending to sleep and a little while later I realized Corom did fall asleep. As you can tell… He was there for the food also. 🙂
Monday: I met up with Mac, Aubrey and Amber and ran for an hour with them. I then continued on for an additional 28:24 minutes. I was able to get about 11.6 miles in (well that’s what my car odometer read)… So I ran for 1:28.24 minutes. It was a good run and I felt great. I babysat today for the 6 year old and the 7 month old. He was a little fussy today. I did have a PTO meeting… I saw my kindergartener and she wanted me to come watch a little dance they do to numbers.
For track practice today… The kids ran a couple mile warmup, 3-4 x 800’s with a slight downhill (very slight but just enough to help them with a faster leg turnover), then a couple of mile cool down. They were beat and one left with a battle wound. 🙂
Corom took out our 2nd daughter tonight and once again forgot to take a picture… I didn’t have time to take out my oldest so we get to go out tomorrow night. 🙂 We did have a couple of families over for dinner and Family Night. We had a good time.
