Thursday: I began my day with a 1:02.23 minute run with Beth. We ran about 8.2-8.3 miles and I felt good (after the 1st 2 miles). At home we cleaned… A lot!!!
We are listing our house on the MLS site tonight, so we are going to town on our house. By 6 p.m. our house was for sale. I don’t know what we are doing but hopefully it’s the right thing. The girls hung out with grandma (g-goat) all afternoon and into the evening…
They had fun! Corom and I went on a trail run with the high school cross country team. Before we left, Corom found our daughter’ (3rd child’s) missing shoe…
We went up to Sundance Resort and ran to Stewart Falls.
It was 1.54 miles up and obviously 1.54 back down. It was an amazing run… Very beautiful!
Majority of the kids went through the waterfall… I was not one of those! I do not like jumping into cold water! We had a great time.
As tradition… We went and grabbed shakes at a little malt shop.
Yes we got a lot of stares… (The guy holding Corom’s hand is the other coach)…
Friday: There are a few people coming over this morning and afternoon to come look at our house… So my morning run and cross country practice were out. We worked on our yard! I then left the house with the girls and went for a walk run with a few neighbors. We headed over to Christensen’s loop… My girls ran, walked and played around while I ran 5 loops.
Take the walking to and from Christensen’s loop out and I ran for a total time of 28:47.30. Not much but it was something. We stayed away from the home as much as possible today but still had neighbor kids over when we were home. By 2:30 p.m…. Our realtor called and said, one of the people made an offer on our home. This is happening way too fast!!! They offered the entire amount and closing costs. They want to eliminate all biding wars… I can’t believe this is happening. So by 7 tonight… We signed and are under contract. Less than 24 hours our house goes into contract! We had a wedding dinner (the groom’s dinner for the families to meet) for our cousin. We had a good time there but our kids were not behaving the best coming home! I think they were just so hyper and excited from playing with their cousins.
It is late now, there is a 5k race in the morning… So I need to go to bed. I’m feeling a little lousy, overwhelmed, emotionally & physically exhausted. Good night and until tomorrow…
I began my day with meeting up with Amber (also her birthday) for a run. We ran 5.8 together before I met up with the cross country kids. I did add speed into my run today. 4 x 1200 repeats around Christensen’s loop (well .72 almost a 1200). I ran 1 with Amber and 3 more while the HS kids were running their 3 mile warmup before they began their 4 x 1200 repeats.
My 1st one was a 4:00, 2nd was 4:00, 3rd was 3:56 and the 4th was a 4:04. I was really tired. I ran my cool down while the HS cross country kids were doing their workout. I would run back and forth until they finished their loop, read off their times, send them off again on another repeat, cool down more, etc. I ran for 1:17.31 minutes. I felt great today… Getting older has nothing on me! 😉 The minute I came home from practice/running (at 8:15 a.m.), I was bombarded from the girls. They wrapped up presents for me… So cute.
Corom did get me a floor steamer (a Shark). I organized a good chunk of the morning (the girls entertained themselves for awhile- thank goodness). I went out to lunch with a few friends. They took me our and we went to Simply Juicy. A place with great wraps. So good!
We came back to my house and they surprised me with cake and ice cream. Then another friend of mine stopped by with more treats. I have really great friends! I did more cleaning and then Corom and I (and the Carter’s) went out for dinner at a Thai restaurant. The food there was great. Later, we took the girls up to the ball fields in our city for movie night. They were playing the Lego Movie.
It was a fun way to spend time with the family on my birthday. The city played this movie and gave out free popcorn and drinks. I love it here in Salem. Very family oriented. It has been a great day… I was tired throughout the day though. I need more sleep!!! 🙂
So… I got up before the roosters got up this morning. Corom had to leave for work by 5:50 a.m. Ahhhhh… 4:45 a.m. my alarm went off. By the time, I got out the door I was able to get a 43:08.80 minute run in. It was sooo slow! My legs would not move. I was tired and my body was achy! But I was so glad I got out for a run. The girls and I went to cross country practice.
They went on a 9 mile run. I was impressed because 90% of the team ran the full route. Later this morning, the girls went to piano/violin lessons and I babysat a few extra kids. Our real estate guy, Jay Terpenine, came over and went over our house. Oh I have a lot to do to get our house ready. Later today as I was packing up a lot of stuff (to make our house more presentable), I get a knock on my door… Yep… My oldest called 911. This is now twice that my kids have done this this year.
This evening I took the girls to the pond here for the boat regatta. It consisted of cardboard and duct tape and trying to get around the pond. Pretty exciting! (I went to sign up but I was too late… But I did it today… My bad.) My good friend, Stefanie, signed her boys up. It was fun to watch.
The girls played at the play ground for awhile…
… And then my friends Camille and stefanie took me out for shakes for my birthday. 🙂
We came back and watched Bachelor in Paradise… Yeah I just admitted to watching the show. 😉
Monday: I went out on a 38 minute run before I met up with the high school kids.
I then ran an additional 42:02 minutes with them. With a total time of 1:20.02. I ran probably about 10 1/2 to 11 miles. I ran with one of the girls that graduated last year that I coached. A very talented runner!!! At home I watched a few extra kids and neighbor kids also came over. Then 3 of the girls from cross country came over and took my 4 girls out. It was a nice surprise and the girls were so excited!
These wonderful runners of mine took the girls to the park, out for ice cream and played at one of their houses. I got a lot done!!! We had the girls stay for dinner, then Corom, my girls and I had family night. Oh, we did have a nice rain storm this evening. 🙂
The girls were soaking! I had friend come over and bring me a treat… Thanks Tifany!!! Then our friend, Jay, came over to help sell our house. He is our realtor. I’m a little nervous making this decision! We are wanting to buy a house a few blocks away (still in the same ward boundaries for church) but I’m going to miss this neighborhood… If we can sell this house and buy that house.
Sunday: Church day and rest day. Church was good today. My youngest gave the scripture in primary…
Then we went to the Fullmer’s house for dinner…
We did take out the “beater” van for a test drive. Not the most comfortable but it was fun.
It has been a busy 4 days!!! I was up in the mountains with the cross country team. We had our CC camp. On Wednesday I did go for a 48:08.07 minute run. The cross country kids went on a 6-8 mile run. One of the girls put her keys down by the dumpster (it was trash day… Yeah… The dumpster ended up on her keys). Then a couple of cross country girls and I went camp shopping. (My girls were invited to go play at a neighbor’s house.)
Lots of cleaning today and neighbor kids in and out.
Thursday: I helped set up for school registration today at the girls elementary school. Corom switched spots with me (and helped behind the table for PTO stuff :/) so I could catch the school bus up to our cross country camp.
Thursday, Friday & Saturday @ Camp: At camp we did a lot of running, with major hills!!! It was brutal but good!

We came across a older gentleman that needed some help on one of our brutal climbs up the mountain. I think, everyone was feeling the same way as I was… More than happy to stop and help. 😉 We did follow him up to his destination (helped him 4 more times) and continued on with our run afterwards. We had 3 guest speakers come up this weekend: Dr. Fullmer- talked on health, nutrition and injury; Zane Grey: he is a magician and did an amazing job with entertaining everyone and tying in goals to his performance; Mr. Corom Hughes (yes my husband), talked on Attitude (he is a therapist for his day job ;)) and how attitude is a choice. All 3 were so good and everyone learned a lot!
We did skits and team building activities… We ran up to a lake (which was already dried up)… It is a 2.8 mile climb and at some points so steep that you had to walk!
Up there, the captains introduced the theme… Attitude… For the season. We tyed-died socks, goofed around…
Did movie night, played games, relaxed, danced, ate, etc…
The best part was… Corom and the girls spent most the weekend up there! They stayed a night over, Friday into Saturday. (The other coach had his kids come up for part of the evening on one of the nights. Our kids had so much fun!)
It was a great experience for our cross country team. All the kids were great, they made good friendships and they ran hard!

Thursday I ran 52:46.27 for our morning run and 38:22.56 for our evening run. Friday we went for 48:33.35 (my legs were burning on this run!) And to finish off camp, we ran back down to our busses… 36 minutes and something. We ran fast coming down. Good times!
Saturday At Home: We cleaned house!!! Someone came over to look at it (we put it up for sale :/). We just want to move a couple of blocks away into a home that is a little bigger than this one. Then we (Corom and I) went out on a date with some friends…
We had a great time!!! Corom was offered a job at the restaurant we went to… Hu Hot! They loved him there! It was very entertaining watching our husbands! As I said earlier… A very busy 4 days but fun!
