I went for a run in Las Vegas this morning… Talk about hot! But it was a good run. On my schedule today I was supposed to run 7 miles with 8 x 100s. I went out for 50.01 minutes. I felt like I was pushing a 7 min pace but it could have been faster… I will never know. 🙂 I did hop onto a cool little loop.

I came around the corner and the girls were outside (well the 3 older ones). They were my little cheering section. I finished off my 8 x 100’s running them back and forth on the street. My 2nd child went picture happy with my phone…

It was a good run. After finally getting our tires changed in Vegas, we got on the road at about 10:45. 🙂 It is about a 4 hour drive to our beach camping grounds in Leo Carrillo, Malibu. Well it is now 5:55 p.m. and we are still 30 minutes away. Yeah… The adventures of care-a-vaning with others. The more people, the more stops. We had many adventures of driving just from Vegas to California! 1st was our tire and having to take that in; 2nd adventure… The Fullmer’s daughter passed out at one of the gas stations. That was a little scary (she is ok, thank goodness)…

Our next stop was supposed to be a “quick” stop and they were aloud to pick out a pack of gum… Yeah… The crowd in the gas station was kind of a lot! But I love seeing the military!!! So it made our stop at the gas station not so bad.

We had another stop and took about an hour (we decided to get dinner instead of spending the evening setting up kitchen at our campsite). Of course the minute we get back on the freeway, my youngest said she had to go to the bathroom. We are only 40 minutes away from our destination… So I did something I am not proud to admit but driving for an extra 3 1/2 hours with 4 loud girls, we were not going to stop.

Yes there was a container below and a cop right next to us. We also had a few encounters with the trailer today… It took up a lot of road and blocked traffic a few times. 🙂

Well… We finally arrived to the beach and our campsites!

Of course my girls have to be the ones to find and catch a bird (that is disgusting :)) and even the Rangers here wouldn’t touch them… They even closed the ranger door when they brought the bird to them.

Then of course we walked to the beach… Beautiful!
Well… I slept in until 7. My kids actually slept that late. It was nice! It was a little chaotic this morning though… The girls last night turned the last milk gallon in our fridge into chocolate milk (while Corom and I were at the movies). Yeah, I was not too happy about that because now the girls had cereal with chocolate milk as their milk. At church, they were all riled up! It was a little frustrating… Especially with my youngest. Z did bear her testimony and it was very sweet! My 2nd daughter went up with her and bore hers too. Church was good. We did take off for California, beach camping today around 3.

We followed our friends, the Fullmer’s, pulling the trailer full of our camping stuff up until Cedar City… That is where we heard “the Flapping” noise…

The tables turned… They followed us another 2 1/2 hours to Vegas. We drove quit a bit slower… Hoping we could make it without the tire getting worse or blowing but prepared if the tire did blow. Well we made it to Vegas to our cousin’s house. Yeah… It was immediate loudness and excitement (from our girls) and it was a nightmare trying to settle them down for bed.

Too much sometimes… 😉 It was fun hanging out with the family and friends.
My oldest was baptized into the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints (LDS/Mormon). LDS.

It was a special day and she was so excited. She was baptized with a neighbor/friend of ours… They both turned 8 around the same time… Do that was fun for both of them.

We had great friends that gave the baptism talk and Holy Ghost talk (Alex Olson and Candy Martin). Our good friends played the piano and led the music and my 2nd daughter (6 year old) said the closing prayer. The other girl’s brother gave the opening prayer. The bishop was great and Corom performed the baptism (my brother, John, and brother-in-law, Mike were the witness’s).

We came back and made breakfast burritos with family and friends.

We cleaned house, cleaned the car out and packed the rest of the afternoon. I did take a 45:53.77 minute break to go for a run. The run felt horrible today. I went out at 2 p.m. It was so hot and windy… Wrong time to go do a run. Thank goodness it was my easier day today! I really was wiped out after this run…

My oldest went to a movie (for her 1st time without me :()… I think she was excited to go with my sister-in-law and a few other kids. Then Corom and I went out to dinner and a movie with 2 other couples. It was fun. It was one of those nights where we couldn’t stop laughing.

(They didn’t know that I took the picture ;).) The Fullmer’s came down for a little while… Kind of a late night, but that is how things go around here.
I met up with Rachelle and Amber this morning (I put in 2 miles before we met up). We all did different runs/workouts but it is nice to be able to meet up to get each other out of bed. I put in a total of 13 1/2 to 14 miles in 1:31.04. My workout was a few miles warmup, 5 x 5 minute on/off, and a cool down. I ran 5 min fast (I believe I was going faster then 5k race pace because I was so tired after every one). I did have a good 20 minute warmup and then began the 5 minutes hard/fast and then a 5 minute recovery. It was tiring and my legs were burning. I did run about a mile at an easy pace when I finished the speed. After that mile, I had 2 left and picked up the pace so I could get done faster. I had to get home…
Today was the last day of school… I made my kids clean before they played. Talk about nightmare! 2 hours in their room crying and throwing a fit… I wouldn’t let them come out until they’re room was clean. Yeah, it took them 20 minutes to actually clean their whole room. Then they had fun!

We had neighbor kids over, they played hide in seek (mainly from Corom and I), especially our youngest. We could not find her for a long time. She thinks it’s funny as we are frantically looking for her. She was hiding behind the little dresser. For some reason my girls love to crawl under the fence… They think it is a shortcut.

My oldest won a hermit crab at school… Oh joy. So we went out and bought a cage and stuff for it.

She is so excited. We had a few friends over for dinner and then we watched a movie. We had a good time!
I ran from my house this morning to meet up with the ladies at the high school. I ran a little over 8-8 1/2 miles in 1:07.02. It was a good run.
At home the girls wanted me to take their pictures while they are breakfast… So I did. 😉

At school, Corom and I were in charge of coming up with a game/relay for field day. The 3 younger girls came with and “helped out”.

We brought about 10 pairs of extra large old inmate/jail pants (Corom brought them home from work). We paired them up in 2’s and split them into 2 teams.

They had to hop to the bucket of water, scoop up water with a 1/4 cup from the bucket and dump it into a jar. They hopped back and tagged the next 2 in line.

It was so fun. The kids had a blast. It was a little awkward when Corom kept yelling for them to take their pants off.
We went to a good friend of ours, boy’s birthday party…

We took off for the youth track practice…

Yes, they learned high jump today. It is so fun watching the little kids learn the ins and outs of track. I headed off to my first Young Women’s activity tonight for my church. The girls are awesome!
