A Short Entry

Today was my rest day of any physical activity (well minus chasing after the girls every 5 seconds). Church was great today and After we came home from church we visited our 91 year old neighbor… She shares a birthday with my youngest…

She is an amazing lady and my girls love going over to her house.

The 2 older girls brought out their rented violin and played for a long time today… I tried not to get upset but oh some times it would hurt my ears with the high screeching sound! 🙂

My girls are singing a song next Sunday in front of everyone while the young lady with the violin (in the picture above) will play her violin. She came over to practice and in return my girls wanted to practice.
For dinner we went to our friends house (the Fullmer’s)… Corom had to help get the van back from last nights Big Wheeling adventures… Later we came home put the girls to bed and Corom and I were going to watch a movie… But Corom fell asleep at 8 and that was our night. 🙂

Big Kids Big Wheeling, Baptisms, Running & Easter Fun

My 2 older daughters and I went to a baptism for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon ) early this morning. It was for a family friend. We then went to an Easter Egg hunt. The girls had so much fun!

After the Easter fun, Corom, the girls and I went to another baptism for neighbors of ours. It was a beautiful, spiritual experience.

They are a great family! The girls went to another Easter thing at the Assisted Living center with some neighbors… And I went for a run (1:01.39). I ran at a moderate to hard pace. My legs were tired today but I pushed through it. I ran on the road, on a trail, and in the rain…

I was soaking by the time I finished. We had the Villalobos over for dinner (they were baptized this afternoon) and then Corom’s mom watched our girls for us while Corom and I with some friends (Fullmers- his brother & wife, Travis and Devon) went Big Wheeling! 😉 We met up at the Fullmer’s and quickly fixed what needed to be fixed on the big wheels…

Once they were loaded up in the van, we drove to the top of Woodland Hills and began our ride down… (About an 8 minute straight down hill).

Corom gets up to 50 mph (I have reached about 40-43 but with Corom weighing more can go faster)… The steering rod on the brown van broke off on one of our drop offs… All part of the adventure. Poor Mike (Fullmer) but it was entertaining to watch the guys try to turn the wheels manually to pull it off the road. Once off the road we continued on with the riding…

My girls had fun at grandmas and Corom and I had a blast goofing off! Fun times!

Birthday Bash & Goblin Valley!

Today is my youngest’s 4th birthday!!! I did wake up earlier than I wanted to so I could go for a run before everyone got up from camp. I went out on one of the most beautiful, solitary runs that I have been on. I was able to go for 1:01.34. It was an easy 8 minute pace I believe.

I ran through the canyon toward the “Goblin Valley”. So beautiful! I was able to recollect my thoughts and go over a few things in my head.
The night before pictures… We unpacked, set up camp, hiked, played around, ate dinner, hiked more, ate s’mores, played night games, ate more junk food, got hair stuck in the zipper, etc…

We even had our friend’s boy throwing up after all the activity and food…

20140411-181414.jpg
I know… A little sick. 🙂

Now back to today and our youngest’s birthday… Everyone at camp was so good to her about her birthday. They were playing a game (all the kids) while we were getting breakfast (pancakes and eggs) cooked, when we heard my youngest (birthday girl) say to a bunch of kids around her, “guys, pretend I’m God, okay”… That sums up her personality!

Soon after we heard my oldest tell another little girl, “Kids are dumber and parents are smarter.” I am teaching her right! 🙂 Hopefully she still thinks this way in 5 to 10 years! We cleaned up and went out for more hiking with the Goblins…

The kids had a blast and who am I kidding the adults did too…

As we were waiting for our entire group (which consisted of all the men and older kids) to meet up, a lady (we didn’t know) came up and asked if we wanted their left over pizza because they didn’t want to waste it… Of course we couldn’t say no. She gave it to us in a plastic bag. 🙂

20140411-224256.jpg
As you can see… It didn’t stop any of our kids from eating it. 🙂 We eventually had to pack up and leave… We stopped off at Wendy’s and bought our kids a kid’s meal (which is a very rare occasion). We said it was for our youngest’s birthday… Talk about excitement.

20140411-224841.jpg
We played games and the girls had to poor water on their heads… I had to pee my pants so secretly I poured water on my pants. The girls thought I was the best. 🙂

My youngest opened up birthday presents…

20140411-230047.jpg
And my mom sent out Frozen as a gift to all the girls…

Just a little excited! We had brownies for her cake…

Our neighbors came over for s’mores and fun. It has been a fun and eventful day.

Hill Repeats & Goblin Valley-No Service

Hill Repeats…. This mornings workout consisted of a 15 minute warmup and 3 sets (45-50 seconds) of a steep hill climb. The set consisted of 5 surges/sprints up the hill with a recovery jog back down, then went straight to the pond and ran a hard lap around the pond (a little longer than a 400- 1 lap around the track). We would do a recover jog back up to the bottom of the hill and start our next set. 5 hills and 1 lap around the pond. My legs were burning, especially on the last set. We finished off with a mile and a half cool down… I ran about 8+ miles and ran for 1:07.21. It was a great workout! Amber was with me this morning… She helps me so much by getting me out of bed. It is so much easier getting up knowing someone is there to meet with. I went to the gym and did my 15 minutes of weights… Not much but it is more than what I have ever done before…
I came home helped the kids get ready and headed off for track practice… The high school kids did the same workout as I did… They did 2 to 3 sets.

20140410-123219.jpg
The picture does not give the hill justice… I was also standing at the half way point. Fun times!
After practice we packed up the car… Met up with other families and now we are on our way to Goblin Valley, Utah.

I am going to post this now because I won’t have service once we reach our destination… Until tomorrow! 🙂

A Quick Recap On My Day…

Mac, Amber and I went on a 12 mile run this morning. I ran for a total of 1:31:26. My legs were sore from yesterday so we took it easy. Throughout the day they felt a little achy… The girls and I went to track practice this morning… The distance runners went on a 6-7 mile run with strides to finish it off.

20140409-212442.jpg
The girls and I played jump rope for a while, waiting for all the kids to return…

20140409-212528.jpg
The girls played with friends all day here at the house…

20140409-212642.jpg
And I found them making pretty pictures all over the walls. 😉

20140409-213024.jpg
All I can say is beautiful art work! I was doing laundry all day and packing the girl’s bag for our little overnight camping trip that we are going on tomorrow to Goblin Valley… While I was doing this, Corom was in a work meeting for the county sitting on the very throne he gave to one of his co-workers as an April Fools Joke…

They saved the seat just for him. He works late tonight and we had our normal routine here with dinner, bath and bed…
