Late Morning Run

I received a text this morning at 5:20 am from a friend I was going to meet up with saying she wasn’t able to make it for our run… So what did I do? I fell back asleep until 6:40. I eventually got out at 7 while Corom begin the process of getting our kids ready for school. I went for an easy 33:28.83 minute run. It felt great and it was so beautiful this morning.

The roads were very slick and icy this morning! It was a nice run.

Today’s Events

My 2 younger girls and I went to my 2nd child’s class.

She was “Hero” of the day. I went in and read a book she picked out and talked about the things she likes and is good at.

Her teacher had a little routine they do that makes the child feel so important. After school a few friends came over and helped make cookies…

And did other activities…

We then had scouts at our house for the weblo’s (10 year olds)… Hyper group of boys! We passed off a 5 different goals and then we sent them off… They were getting restless. We gave them boxing gloves and had them box it out.

I took the girls out for ice cream right after dinner… Of course my youngest only had 1 shoe…

We went straight to the school to watch Z (our foreign exchange student) do a dance performance.

After the kids went to bed and some girlfriends of mine came over and watched the Bachelor… ๐Ÿ™‚

Harry’s Hill Run

I met up with Mac, Aubrey and Amber.

We ran Harry’s hill loop. It was a nice warmup to Harry’s and then I ran hard up. I forgot to check my watch to see how fast that mile was going up but towards the end my legs were like jello and I wanted to stop. It is a steep mile incline up. I ran back down to the last person and turned to run back up with her. We continued up (once we all grouped back up) to the Woodland Hills mailboxes (another 1/2 mile steep climb). I didn’t push it as hard up that hill as I did Harry’s because I wanted to do a 3 mile tempo once we reached the top. I ran a 6 min pace for the 3 miles (having it on a nice gradual downhill helped my time). ๐Ÿ™‚ After my tempo, I turned around and went back up to meet up with the ladies again. I ran a total of 10.6 miles in 1:17.35 making it a 7.20 pace. Nice run but I have a lot of work to do with speed!

All In A Day…

My friend Stephanie and I surprised our other friend Camille for her birthday with balloons and good breakfast burritos!

It was nice visiting while my kids were in school. After I watched a couple of extra kids… I was able to clean house while the kids played… It was nice. I then went to in-door track practice. The kids went on a 7 mile loop with a mini tempo from miles 4-5 1/2.

We only had a handful of runners today but the ones that did come did well!

I took my 2 older daughters to their first piano lessons. They are taking it from my running friend Amber. They loved it!!! We then came home, had dinner as a family (which is every night as a family except for Wednesday nights), and then went Home Teaching together (Corom and I are partners… It is something we do in our church). We are assigned certain families in our ward/church and we visit them at least once a month to get to know them more, to help out with anything, etc. Corom headed off for scouts and then is going straight to coach his basketball team for their practice tonight. I helped my daughters with their lovely homework…

My oldest struggles really bad in reading! She is behind in her class. We have tried so many different things… We are at a loss and don’t know what to do differently!!! Help!ย Well… Time to get the 2 older ones to sleep (it is 7:45). The 2 younger ones were out by 7:15. ๐Ÿ™‚

Run This Morning

I met up with Mac and Holly at 5 a.m. It was 18 degrees this morning… A lot warmer than yesterday! We ran for 8.25 miles together and then I ran 1.1 more at a faster pace. 9.35 miles in 1:11.51. I love talking with Holly about running. She ran for Nike and has qualified for the Olympic Trials back in her racing days (she still races and is still very competative, but she is not racing at that level anymore)… She is so knowledgable in running and she gives great advice! Thanks ladies!
