1st Day Of School, Running, Clinique’s… The Norm…

Sunday: Sunday was church, meetings, and hanging out with the family. It was a nice, quiet day…

IMG_1242.JPG

Monday: I woke up at 2:45 a.m. and went to help Rebecca at the Clarion Gardens. :/ She had to make and bring breakfast to the local airport. So I worked from 3 in the morning until 5 in the morning. It was rough at 1st but I was able to wake up more.

IMG_1212.JPG
I met up with Mac this morning and went for a 1:10.12 minute run. I was a little sore from my Saturday’s run and obviously a little tired. But it was a good run! We ran errands today, kids played, neighbors came over and lots of cleaning got done…

IMG_1265.JPG We headed off to the open house for school and I worked at the PTO table…

IMG_1223.JPG Then we (the girls and I) went to cross country practice. It was so hot out today for them… They were struggling today. They went on a 7 mile run with 6 x 1 minute fartleks… It didn’t go well today. They all looked flat. It happens…

IMG_1243.JPG… After practice I picked up a few of my YW and we visited the other girls and dropped off a treat for them. It was a good luck back to school treat…

IMG_1222.JPG Then the family and I headed over to a neighbor’s house for family night- roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. 🙂

IMG_1244.JPG

Tuesday: Well I got up around 5:45 a.m. and set out for my run. I ran a 22 minute “warmup” run. Then ran 10 hazel dr hill repeats. They are tough and steep. (That took another 22 min). The next 13 minutes was my “cool down” run home. A total of 56:45.43 minutes. I was dreading this run but during the middle and especially when I finished I was happy I did it. I hurried home to get my girls ready for their 1st day of school! I have 2 that start this week (1st & 3rd grade). My kindergartener starts next week and my pre-schooler starts Thursday. Crazy!!

IMG_1269.JPG It was so hard sending them off to school… I hate it and it is something I will never get used to! They were so excited though. My youngest started to cry upstairs so I ran up there…

IMG_1246.JPG Is that so bad that I took a picture before helping. :/ After picking the girls up from school we headed off to cross country practice. They went on an easy 5 1/2 mile run and then we passed out uniforms…

IMG_1270.JPG After dinner, the girls, Corom and I headed over to the football practice to do running drills. We have fun doing this!

IMG_1272.JPG It was off to YW’s and YM’s activity. We played flour dodge ball. It was a blast.

IMG_1273.JPG I had to leave early from the activity to head over to a new Running store Endrance Athletics for a Clinique they held for our cross country team.

IMG_1274.JPG I went to my friend Stephanie’s house to watch the Bachelor… Half way through, we paused the show and made a store trip. 🙂

IMG_1268.JPG Why do donuts taste so good so late at night? 😉 A busy few days…

Thursday To Saturday’s Events…

Thursday: I got up early… Not for a run but to take a friend of mine to the airport. The girls and I loaded up at 6:30 a.m. And off we went to the airport. We got back around 9ish but by the time I got out the door for my run it was around 10:15. I went out for a good moderate to hard pace. I felt good. It was a lone run but I really enjoyed it. I was in one of those moods where I wanted to think and there is something about running alone that let’s your mind think freely. I also do a lot of praying. : ) It was a good run! I went for about 52:22 minutes. When I got back, I had 2 girls waiting for me to go running. 🙂

IMG_1109.JPG
For cross country practice today the HS kids ran to the neighboring town’s public pool. It was only a 4 1/2 mile run and the kids had fun. I brought my kids (and Corom but he is a big kid)…

IMG_1110.JPG

IMG_1111.JPG
Corom went to football tonight to help the kids with their sprints. I stayed home with the girls because they got into trouble. I was bummed to miss it but the girls were driving us crazy. Corom and I did meet up with some friends later in the evening and played games.

Friday: I met up with Mac, Aubrey and Maddie for a 1:03.49 run. I felt ok… Better half way through my run. The girls had tumbling today…

IMG_1112.JPG
They had a good time! I then took the girls to go “school” shopping. They picked out new backpacks and pencils…

IMG_1094.JPG
At cross country practice today the kids ran a speed workout. My kids decided they wanted to do it with them. It was so fun to watch.

IMG_1144.JPG
I’m going to speak freely for a minute… We have a great group of kids but most of them (especially the varsity team) has been so uncommitted this year. They have not been putting the miles in, have not been coming to practice on a regular basis-very inconsistent, etc. As a coach it is frustrating to see. They have so much raw talent! And if they were to just come out, they would do well. On the other hand… We do have the kids that show up every practice and try hard every day and they deserve to be at the top but they are not. We did give the HS kids a lecture so hopefully that will change things. :/ They did do better with this workout today (well the ones that were there). We really do have good kids though! After practice I went to a RS retreat. All the ladies in our “Stake” for church (our city), went to a over nighter get away. There were a couple of hundred ladies there and about 25 ladies from my ward. It was a blast!

IMG_1145.JPG We went hiking, did crafts, ate, visited, goofed around and stayed up late talking. We had a great time! A much needed retreat. There are amazing ladies in my ward-church. Well I went to bed late and woke up too early…

Saturday: We went for a morning hike, had a spiritual devotional and then ate breakfast. The breakfast was great… I ate too much! Well I decided to go for a run. I packed up my stuff and began my run home from the lady retreat. My friends Nicole, Amber and Camille left an hour after I did to pick me up along Payson canyon. I ran for 1:40.45, about 14.2 miles. It was a beautiful, amazing run!

IMG_1150.JPG The 1st 23:42 minutes was all up hill and the rest of the time was all down! 🙂 It was pleasant. Corom, the girls (my girls), Mike and Jason went to Strawberry lake to catch crawdads for the Southern Boil tonight.

IMG_1206.JPG
They had fun and probably had too much fun after they caught them…

IMG_1205.JPG We had a babysitter stay with the girls while Corom and I, the Fullmer’s and Booths went to the dinner at the Clarion Gardens Event Center. We met up with a few other couples and had a great time.

IMG_1207.JPG We had a tray to eat out of with no silverware… Just our hands. 🙂 It was a little messy but was so good!

IMG_1208.JPG
We came back to the house and watched a movie.

Running, Playing, Football, Work, Church & Fairs…

Tuesday: Oh joy… A little speed workout to start off my day. I met up with Amber and Melissa at the HS track. We ran a 3 mile “warmup” run and then began our 6 x 800’s with a lap recovery jog. 1st: 2:54, 2nd: 2:54, 3rd: 2:54, 4th: 2:53, 5th: 2:51, 6th: 2:54. I was beat running these. My body was tired going into this workout (lack of sleep), so it was a struggle getting through it. It always reminds me of the importance of sleep. We finished our workout with a 2 1/2 mile cool down. I’m glad I got that done! It took about 1:13.02 for 10+ miles. Anyway… It was a typical day. Friends/neighbors were over (which some helped wash my car :)):

IMG_0950.JPG I then had PTO stuff :/, cross country practice…

IMG_1036.JPG After dinner, the girls, Corom and I went to help my brother-in-law with his football team (8th grade)…

IMG_1037.JPG We came for the 1st half an hour and ran them through running/sprinting drills. Corom and I actually had a lot of fun. 🙂 Corom went to his church meetings and I went to YW’s…

IMG_1038.JPG

Wednesday: I met up with Amber and Rachelle this morning for my run. We went out for 1:04.38 minute run. We ran a little over 8 1/2 miles. It was a good recovery run. I came home and my 2nd child (6 year old) asked if her and I could go for a run together. 🙂 🙂 🙂 I was surprised and so excited. So… Her and I went for a run!

IMG_1040.JPG I had so much fun! We ran around the block and she asked if we could go longer. We ran for a little over 10 minutes. When we got back, she turned to me and asked if we could do this every morning. I said of course! 🙂 The other 3 girls were busy dressing their bunnies. :/

IMG_1039.JPG Poor bunnies… We then headed out to my youngest’s pre-school open house. But before we left my youngest (4 year old) had to cut her own bangs. Awesome… Now I don’t have to do it myself. :/

IMG_1041.JPG The girls and neighbor kids had fun with the dogs in the back yard…

IMG_1043.JPG I met up with some really great friends of mine for lunch today at the pizza factory. We try to get together for all of our birthdays. It has been a while and it was so great meeting up today!

IMG_1002.JPG The girls played with their friends (thanks Marti) and then the girls and I went to cross country practice. We had a couple of pottie breaks (in the picture)…

IMG_1042.JPG Then we headed over to the County Fair. We met up with Amber D and her kids and then Corom was able to meet up with us for a little bit.

IMG_1044.JPG Corom and I headed over to sign papers on the house we want… To put us in contract with them. :/ He went back to work and I did the night routine. 🙂 Fun times!

Baby Blessings To Gut Aches

Sunday: A typical Sunday… We went to church (and the 3rd hour lesson was great), we hung out at home, had a meeting or 2 and then went to my sister-in-law’s baby blessing…

IMG_0944.JPG Kymbra… He is a cute baby and it was so good to hold my nephew… A BOY ! Yeah… I wouldn’t know that feeling of holding a boy. 🙂 We had a family dinner and then it was bed time for the girls.

Monday: I went for a lone morning run. I felt good and I was able to push my pace a little. I went out for 1:01.34 and went for about 8.2-8.3 miles. It was a good run. I held a PTO meeting today at the elementary school (yeah I’m the new PTO president :/). It went well… Then Camille and Stephanie and I headed back to Stephanie’s house to let the kids play…

IMG_0945.JPG The 2 younger girls and I headed to our first afternoon cross country practice (my 2 older girls went with Camille to her house). It was a hot afternoon but the kids have to get used to running/racing in the heat. Majority of the races are in the afternoon after school.

IMG_0946.JPG The cross country kids ran 5 1/2 to 7 1/2 miles today. They did well for their 1st time in the heat. For family night tonight, we went to the Barney’s house for dinner and hanging out. We had a great time!

IMG_0947.JPG We took care of some more paper work (for our loan) on the house we want. I still can’t believe we sold our house so quick!

IMG_0660.JPG Jay Terpenine is our realtor and once he put it up, he really put it out there! He came over a few times before and gave us great advice on what we need to do to get our house ready… Well it worked! He is great and did a great job! Anyway… After meeting with our friends, the Shepards, with our loan stuff we came home and I met Camille and Stephanie at my house for Bachelor in Paradise; and Corom met up with Mike Fullmer (our pediatrician) to check Corom out. Corom has been having a gut ache. Mike came over to see if it was a appendicitis… Yeah it looks like Corom might be “backed up”.

IMG_0948.JPG Lots of miralax for Corom. 😉 Hopefully that will help his issues!

Salem Days & And The 5k

It was an early morning for us all. It is Salem Days this week (I love Salem days… All week long there has been activities). This morning was the 5k and kids mile. The girls ran the mile race…

IMG_0886.JPG They did so good. It’s fun to watch them run these races and enjoy them. Corom and I ran the 5k right after. He pushed all 4 kids in the stroller. That is a tough race pushing a stroller!

IMG_0888.JPG My oldest came in ahead of the other 3 and took 3rd in her age group. My 2nd child took 1st in her age group; 3rd child took 1st in her age group; and 4th took 4th… Corom placed 3rd in the stroller category and I placed 1st overall in the 5k.

IMG_0889.JPG I felt really good today. On this course (and I have ran this race at least 7-8 years in a row) and I have never broken 19 minutes on this course… Today I ran 18:39.7. I was pleasantly surprised! I ran a mile and a half warm up (1/2 a mile was with my youngest) and then ran about 4 miles after… We (Corom, the girls and I) stayed for the city breakfast (which was free) and then stayed longer to watch the parade.

IMG_0909.JPG Have I mentioned that I love parades! 😉 We walked around the park/ball fields. There were many booths set up with venders for food, games, and stuff to sell. They had karaoke there, too. My youngest (for the 1st minute) went up by herself and sang “Let it Go” from frozen. My 2nd child got up the nerve to go sing it with her. 🙂 So cute!

IMG_0910.JPG The 2 younger girls got in trouble and had to stay home for the evening, while I took the 2 older ones to the cities Pageant. (Not a beauty pageant…). It was very entertaining. My 2 girls “walked” across the stage for part of their program. They wanted all the runners for the race to be noticed. It was a nice program they put together. After was the firework show.

IMG_0911.JPG It has been a long day… But a good one. I can’t wait for next years Salem Days. 😉
