I went out at 6 this morning for a 52:44.41 total minute run (with the 100’s included in that time). I did finish off with 6 x 100’s. I was supposed to get 6 miles in and finish off with 8 x 100’s. I’m pretty sure I ran more than 6 miles so I felt ok with not doing the other 2 100’s. (I just mapped it out and I ran 6.7 with the 6 x 100’s on top of that). I got the girls ready for the youth track practice…we (the high school kids and I) set up an obstacle course for practice. We later handed out the ribbons and medals that the kids won from the last track meet. They were excited!

The girls had their 5th lesson of swimming. It is fun to watch them improve each day.

Later the girls helped the neighbor kids wash their car…

Then about 20 kids came over. My friend Lindsey and I filled up about 400 water balloons and they got into a water balloon fight. The water balloons did not last that long!

In the early evening, The girls and I took Z to the store to buy more luggage and then I went to pick up my race packet. I’m signed up to run a 1/2 marathon tomorrow. I decided I will run it with a friend of mine and help her to achieve her goal. It would be unwise of me to race it with the marathon next week. Corom comes home tonight sometime… He went camping with the scouts. It is 8:30 and I am going to get ready for bed. I have to leave my house at about 3:30 a.m. For this “race”… The things I sign up for.
I met up with Aubrey for a recovery run of 5 miles. I love the tapering miles… 5 miles now sounds like a piece of cake. It took us 39:33.51. My legs were heavy and it was hard to keep going but I guess that is all part of tapering. I took the girls to their piano/violin lessons and then to swimming lessons.

I met up with a good friend of mine, Beth, for lunch at Simply Juicy. Delicious wraps! We talked a lot about the upcoming marathon in Minnesota next weekend. The girls, Amber and her kids and I went to Christensen’s Loop and walked the loop, then went to the local library here for a little while.

For dinner I got this recipe from a friend of mine… It is sooo good!!! And very healthy. Nachos with sweet potatoes instead of chips!!!

I sliced the sweet potato, brushed a little olive oil on it and added seasoning salt then baked it for 40-45 min at 425. Then I added the corn, black beans, kidney beans and cheese and put it back in for 5 min. After I added tomatoes, avocados and the sautéed peppers and carrots. It was really good! Thanks Janae! Corom went camping tonight with scouts and I hung out with a few ladies for a little while. Now it is close to 10 and I have to get ready for bed.
I went out for a little speed today. I warmed up for a little over 2 miles and then ran 3 x 1600’s at 5k race pace. I ran a little bit farther on 2 of them but that is because I guessed how far the mile was. My 1st one was 1.1 miles in 6:20 (with a downhill advantage), 2nd was 1 mile in 5:52 (on a flat road), 3rd was 1.18 in 6:28 with flat and the last .3 downhill. I ran about 4 minutes in between each mile. I ran a good cool down afterwards. I ran for 1:00.59 minutes. We went to youth track today and focused a lot on the field events. I also picked up donuts for the kids. 😉

The girls went to their 3rd day of swim lessons…

Then I took the girls to a $1 movie at our local movie theatre (they showed “How to train your dragon”). We came home, cleaned, worked on crafts, climbed trees, and did some chalk art…

Corom works late tonight… The girls went to bed early (with the middle 2 falling asleep at 6:45 :)). They stayed up way too late last night with Z and her party. I watched a little T.V. And then eventually went to bed…
I met up with Amber and went for a 7 mile run and ended with 8 x 100 meter strides. It took me a good couple of miles to get into my rhythm. Once I finished my run, I felt good. I ran for 58:55 minutes (about 8 miles). The strides felt good! I stayed at the track (where we finished) and went right into cross country practice. We are meeting every Monday for the month of June before we go 5 days a week.

Then I stayed for youth track…

As you can see my youngest got into trouble. The girls had their 1st day of swim lessons…

Yolanda (my sister in law) and I took our kids and neighbor kids to the park to feed the ducks.
We had a few families over for dinner for Family night.
This morning I was able to sleep in until 6:15 and then went on a 41:42.80 minute easy recovery run. It felt good after the 1st couple of miles. Once I came home I had the girls eat, get ready, chores and then summer homework.
I have them do 15-20 minutes of “school” work to keep up on their studies. I know… I’m a mean mom! Oh well. Then I took them to swimming lessons…

After I spent the rest of my day setting up for the track meet that we are hosting tonight. We are expecting about 400 kids from all over. The track meet went well!

After the meet, we got home to a party that Z (our foreign exchange student) was having. It was a goodbye party for her. Yeah… Corom and I had a friend of ours come DJ it. 🙂 I think Corom and his 2 friends had more fun than anyone else.

My mother-in-law made Z a blanket and everyone that came over signed it. It was neat and she loved it.
Today was my rest day of any form of exercise. It was nice. The girls were really good today at church. I had a meeting after church regarding the young women (12-18 year olds). Corom had his responsibilities after church and then we spent time with friends of ours. It was nice and relaxing and we had good Navajo tacos. Love Navajo tacos!!!

The girls had fun and did their normal thing of climbing everything!

Later Corom and I went for a little ride on his dirt bike. I have not been on the back of a “motorcycle” for a while now. We went and visited a few other friends.

It was a pleasant day. It always makes it nice when the girls are behaving! 😉
