Today was my rest day from any form of exercise… I love Sundays for that reason. Don’t get me wrong because I do love to exercise but I do love the rest, too (mentally and physically).
This morning went by smoothly with getting the girls ready for church (Corom had his meetings this morning that started at 6). We had a good 45 minutes before the girls and I had to leave for church (which starts at 9).

Church was great… I got called into the Young Women’s (so I will be working with all the girls from the ages of 12-18). I am excited. I am sad though because I will not be working with the scouts once they find someone to replace me. The boys are good kids and it was fun helping them. After church we lounged around, visited a friend of ours,

Went to dinner with the Carter’s from the Clarion Gardens… (It was their daughter’s birthday). We had Steak Portobello Pizzas and lots more! It was sooo good!

Right after we headed up to another friend of ours… She got married tonight. We missed the wedding ceremony but made it up right after. It was simple and low key but beautiful! She is amazing and he seems really nice!

Our good friend Ingrid caught the bouquet… We joked around with her about it. 🙂 Well it is late and I’m tired. Time to get ready for bed.
Today is going to be a good day with a lot of juggling involved! I have to put a good run in (a quality run not a quantity due to time), it is the State track meet today (and I have three 2 milers that qualified and a couple of 800 runners), it is my oldest’s 8th birthday today and mine and Corom’s 11 year anniversary. 🙂
So I woke up and went on a 9.9 mile run. It took me 1:03.17. It was a hilly route so I am happy with the time. My legs were a little tired from the start but I knew I had to run hard. I felt good once I finished the run.
My 2 oldest and I headed off to the State Track meet…

We had fun… The girls loved being at the meet with the high school kids (and I bought them lots of goodies). The high school athletes did really well!!! The distance boys pulled through again in the 2 mile. Our top runner broke the school record by 1 second (9:36) and the other PR’d by a few seconds (9:52). In the 800’s one ran a 2:00 and the other ran a 2:02.

Our female 2 miler PR’d by 20 seconds! She ran a 12:09 and looked good. They ran well. Our sprinters and field events also performed well! Our javelin throwers took 2nd and 4th in State. The girls high jumpers placed well.

The girls 4×4 killed it! (I was not there for it but I got a play by play on it.) Their split times were 60, 57, 59, 59. Good school record for them. They placed 2nd in State. I’m sad I missed it but I was at home with my daughter and 37 other kids for her party. 😉 Yeah… We invited the entire 2nd grade so no one was left out. One of the neighbor girls also turned 8 last week, so we combined the birthday party with her. Our good friend came by with tons of treats for the birthday party and a nice gift for our oldest. She is an amazing person and the kids devoured her treats. Thanks Mary!!!

We didn’t know what to expect but it turned out well. Like I said… We had a total of 37 kids and 3 different couples that came over to hang out. (Thanks Bronies, Halls & Fullmers!)

They played on the zip-line and hunted for Geodes. Then we ate hot dogs and cupcakes…

After everyone left she opened her presents (we wrote on the invitation not to bring gifts- a few kids still brought something, though). She was so excited for present time!
We put the kids to bed and Corom and I went to a late movie with our friends the Fullmers. Their daughter babysat for us. Corom and I don’t usually get out for our anniversary because of our daughter’s birthday. Tonight was a treat.

This was not a very detailed post but it is late and it has been a long but fun day.
I was able to get a 45:46 minute run in this morning at 5 a.m. It was a nice and easy 5 1/2 mile run. I didn’t have too much time this morning because I had to catch the bus for the high school State track meet.
We had 25 athletes from our school qualify for State. It was great. We had some excellent performances. We started off with the boy’s mile and the girl’s javelin. The 2 boys that raced in the mile raced well. One ran a 4:26 (his personal best) and the other ran a 4:33 (his best is a 4:25). He was a little disappointed in his time but knew that he felt a little off…

The javelin girls threw well! Our top female placed 4th in State. We went on to the sprints, boy’s high jump and girl’s long jump. The sprinters raced well and many made it into the finals on the male and female side (5 out of the 6 relay teams made it to tomorrow’s finals- 4 x 100’s, 4 x 400’s, and the boy’s medley). They were exciting to watch…

The high jumpers did great. We had 4 make it to State (with 2 placing 5 & 6) and 3 of the guys did a 3-way tie to break the school record.

We have another exciting day tomorrow! (I will only be there for a couple of hours… It is my 11 year anniversary and my oldest’s 8th birthday :)). We had many of the other track members show up to support the team… It was a great sight!

And the teammates were there for each other…

I do have to say a huge thanks to my good friend Camille, for taking the kids for me today! I could not have gone if it weren’t for her watching my girls all day. They had a great time there. Putting the girls to bed was a little difficult, though. Girls are so emotional. My 2 older ones came down late crying…

I asked them what was wrong… My 2nd child said they miss their white bunny and brown bunny. I couldn’t help but laugh… We had those bunnies a little over a year ago! Yeah… Girls are emotional!!! It was kind of a rough night… Oh well, it’s almost time to go to bed.
Today I went on a 9.5 mile run. Amber and I met up and ran up the Dairy’s loop, up Harry’s and headed into Woodland Hills. Once we got to the top, we turned around and tempoed back to my house. I ran about an 18 minute 3.2 mile tempo. My legs were tired but I pushed through it. The total run time was 1:09.07. I went to the gym a little while after and did my 20 minutes of weights. Corom and Mike then went on their 7 mile run…

That was the furthest Corom has ran in a long time.
Corom had the day off so we hung around the house (with 3 extra kids during the morning). Our youngest is always getting into something…

Oh… She drives me crazy sometimes (or a lot of the time)!
We went to my 2nd grader’s program.
It was cute. She sang a song with a few other kids and then recited a poem.

Some kids were handed balloons at the end and of course a few floated to the top of the ceiling. Corom and our friend Ben had to try to get them down for the poor little kids that lost their balloon…

Yep, they finally got the balloons down.

A few other kids came over after school and I then went to track. It is the day before State so the distance runners went on an easy 2 to 3 mile run. Nothing big, just something to get their legs moving. I left practice and the girls and I went to their 1st track meet of the season. Yeah… I probably went over board with pictures… But here you go…my oldest with long jump:

They had fun racing in the 100 meter dash, the 50 and the 4×1 relay… The cutest thing to watch…

They had fun with their teammates…

I do love coaching the youth city track… I also love watching my kids love it!

We came home (late) and I was putting the girls to bed when Corom came home from church meetings. 🙂 Perfect timing! 😉 Now I am going to post a few videos of the track meet.
There you have it for today!
I met up with Amber, Amber and Rachelle for an easy 7.1 mile run. We ran the 7 miles in 1:01.14, so about an 8:30 pace… That was much needed for me. My legs were feeling tired today.
The girls and I walked to school today. The girls love it when we are able to walk. It was finally warm enough this morning and the girls got ready in time so we walked the mile to school. We stayed for my 3rd child’s speech class, then my 2 younger girls and I walked back…

A few other moms and I met up at a park and let the kids play for a while…

At track the distance runners that made it to State (and some of the other kids that didn’t make but want to keep running) went on a 4.78 mile loop run at an easy pace and finished off 2 laps with strides. I was feeling a little lazy today and I think the feeling was mutual (I usually follow the runners on their route or work on something while they are running but today I just sat on the field with my girls and a few other athletes and talked) …

I then took my girls to piano/violin…

(This is their teacher.) I had scouts at the house while the 2 older ones were in their lessons. The scouts had to start a fire, cook over it, clean up after themselves and had a few other things to pass off…

We had fun. After dinner, the girls and I hung out with neighbors for awhile and then they went to bed. Corom worked late tonight, Z went to a school thing and I was able to watch a T.V. show that I wanted to watch. 😉
