Ahhhhh… The dreaded 1200 repeats around Christensen’s Loop. We (Melissa, Amber, Scott and I) ran a 2 mile warmup then started our 1200 repeats. This loop is a 1200 with little rolling hills… It is great but tough when running a speed workout on it. We ran 8 x 1200’s. My 1st one: 4:02; 2nd one: 4:08; 3rd one: 4:01; 4th one: 4:02; 5th one: 4:03; 6th one: 3:57; 7th one: 3:55; 8th one: 3:55. It was between a 5:25- 5:35 minute mile pace. (It was 8 miles total with speed- we ran a quarter of a mile to finish off the 1200 making it a mile.) We then finished with a mile and a half of a cool down. It was a tough workout but it felt good (after we were done).
I went home to get the girls ready… My 3rd daughter did not want me to do her hair! I had to explain to her that today was a must!

3 of my girls went to school and my 3rd went with me to the gym (South Valley Gym)… I did my 20 minutes of weight lifting and she hung out with G-goat (Corom’s mom-she works there).

We had kids over at our house today and they noticed that we had a new addition to our backyard… We found out that the 2 rabbits that Corom brought home (about a month ago, that I was unaware of) had had babies…

I was told that they were 2 male rabbits… Yeah not the case.
I headed off to the JV track meet (their last one)… They had a fun time and some of the distance runners PR’d. It is so fun to watch them race and do well. Z (our foreign exchange student) PR’d in her mile by 30 seconds and I was so excited for her… She was so happy…

I had to leave the meet a little early to come back and start our first track practice for the youth of the city (1st grade to 8th grade). We had a pretty good turn out. This will be a lot of fun (all 4 of my girls want to run this year). 🙂

The high school kids come out and help run the program. They do a great job and the younger kids love to be around them!
I went out this morning at 5:30 with Mac, Amber and Rachelle. It was a nice, conversational pace. We ran 9.2 miles in 1:11.25. I felt good after the run.
The girls and I hung around the house most of the day (with just a few errands to run)… We cleaned (well mainly I) and the neighbor kids were over. They did get into trouble. They dumped the rest of the dog food all over the trampoline. Yeah I was not too happy about that one. …

At track the kids that made it to State did a speed workout of 1 1/2 mile warmup and 7 x 300’s then 2 to 3 x 200’s. They ran 1 1/2 miles of a cool down. The rest of the team ran a 4 mile easy run with strides at the end. They have their last track meet tomorrow just to give them another race…

For family night we had friends over for dinner, then a lesson…

Then we all went to Cold Stone’s and got some ice cream…

My girls were on a little sugar high. The kids behind the counter were awesome. They were flinging little ice cream balls seeing if some of us could catch it in our mouth…

Yeah… It didn’t make it to our mouths. 😉 That was my day in a nutshell. And now It is time for me to get ready for bed… Until tomorrow…
I was able to sleep in a little bit today (until 7:15). It felt great. Corom didn’t have to go to his church meetings this morning so the girls and him made me breakfast…

Z (our foreign exchange student) made a little chocolate trail for me leading to the rest of the bag of one of my favorite chocolates…

The girls made cards for some of the ladies in our neighborhood/church that have helped us out and helped mother my children. Then the girls made me a crown and wand to wear to church today (yeah it was Corom’s idea :/). So I wore it throughout church.

Church was very nice today. All the ladies visited during the 2nd and 3rd hour. The men took over all the rest of the classes (for the children and youth). We did have a short, spiritual message but the rest of the time was for visiting.
So the girls gave me a card and written inside was their gift to me…

Yeah… They fought so much today!!! I don’t know what it was but it was non-stop. Corom had to “remind” the girls of their gift many, many times but that did not help. 🙂 (Now that there in bed, I can say it wasn’t that bad. ;))
We went to Corom’s mom’s house for dinner. A few other family members showed up.

We had a good time.
Happy Mother’s Day to my mom and everyone else! A special thank you to everyone that helps me raise my kids!
We couldn’t do it without you!
We (Corom, the girls, Z, our friend-Mike & I) left early this morning to drive to Dugway Geode Beds to find Geodes. We had quite the adventure of driving there and driving home.

We did run into some horses going up and coming home. It was really neat!

We had fun looking for all the geodes. For the 1st half we were struggling to find the geodes…

Then we decided to move to another location…

And we started to find a lot!!!

We cracked a few open and they were beautiful.

After our drive home, I went out for a 2:02.13 run. It was the longest run I have ever been on not running a race. I went up the Dairy Loop, then up the dreaded Harry’s hill, continuing up to the Woodland Hills mailboxes. I ran down into Elkridge, and then up and around Goose Nest heading towards Payson. I ran a 4 1/2 mile loop into Payson, back to Elkridge, back to Salem… To my home. It was a great run! Corom came out to drop off a new drink I am trying out for this company. XOJO…

It worked great!!! It gave me the energy I needed for this run. This won’t make sense to you but I drove in the car after my run (because I don’t wear a garmin watch)… This is my notes on my run:
-Dairy loop to Harry’s To WH mailboxes-all up hill 5.6 (39 min)
-To Elkridge & goose nest-1 steep hill about .4 miles… 8.2 (56 min)
-1:08 min drink (stop sign- canal road & Payson) 10.3 miles
-1:20 min 12.2 miles (Payson park) This was really close to race pace for the 1/2… 1:19.23 for 13.1 miles (another hill about 1/2 mile or so)…
-1:26 min mouth of Payson canyon (12.9 miles)
-Back to the drink 14.5 miles
-Mt. loafer 3 way stop 1:50 min 16.8 miles
–To home… 18.9 miles in 2:02.13.
6:28 pace… With major hills!!!
I was so shocked to see that I ran that far… And I am so grateful that Corom came out (and left XOJO) out!

It really did help me! I don’t usually take Gu’s on my training runs or even drink water or any other fluids, so maybe this gave me the extra edge to finish strong… Anyway… I was so excited when I returned home and saw the odometer! This may sound weird but I wanted to cry! 😉 After my run I came home and laid on the ground for a good 20 minutes.
Corom, the girls and I worked around the house and then neighbor kids came over. After the girls went to bed, Z (our Foriegn exchange student), had her date and 7 other couples come over for dinner. There is a dance tonight (Morp) and they needed a place to eat… 🙂 My type of thing!

It was fun… The kids looked like they were having a good time, and then they were off to their dance. Corom and I watched a movie and he gave my legs a good massage. He’s a good man!!!
I went out for a nice recovery run this morning. Amber and I met up for most the run together. We ended up on the dirt high line canal trail. It was a nice change. I ran for 51.10.34. My legs felt a little lactic acid”y”, but oh well… It was a nice run.
We had our 3rd daughter’s preschool graduation today. I picked up my kindergartener from school and checked out my oldest (2nd grader) and we all went to her graduation.

They did a short little program. It was the cutest thing! They then put on their cap and gown and walked…

My daughter gets so shy in these types of situations! She is so dang cute!!! 😉 She won a special award for being there every day at school (her and her little friend). Her sisters were quite proud and cheered very loud.

Mrs. Leslie is the nicest lady and all my kids have gone to her pre-school.
After school, the neighborhood kids came over and played. Then Z (our foreign exchange student) had a group date at our house. There were 6 couples total. They are going to a dance tomorrow night for school and decided they wanted to make matching t-shirts.

They made shirts, ate dinner, had dessert, then went home. Corom and I went to a neighbors to visit for a little while then headed up to the Fullmer’s for hot tubing. The kids are sleeping and Z offered to watch them so we could go. 🙂

Corom and Mike are practicing if they ever get stuck in their car that is sinking under water. Yeah, a little weird. But hey… They will be prepared.
