Rachelle and I went out for our morning run. It was an easy day today. We headed out (around the Dairy Loop) and about 2 to 3 miles into our run it began to hail. Oh… Those little ice pellets hurt our faces! It was a little fun though. We finished off with 9.3 miles at a 7:25 minute mile pace (1:09 or something like that). I did finish off with 4 strides. I felt good today.
I cleaned the girl’s rooms all morning and all day! What a chore.
At track the high school kids went on a mile warmup and then we began a ladder workout.

They started off with an 800, 600, 400, 300, 200, 400, 300, 200… These were all at their 800 to mile race pace with a 3-5 minute recovery. They were tired. The reason you do a ladder workout in track is because you are shocking your body for the different races and speeds you do in track. Very rarely do you get a runner who only focuses on 1 race. So each interval was at a different pace either their mile race pace, 800 race pace and even 400 race pace. It is a great way to teach your body mentally and physically to race at different speeds for that particular event… For example, we have a distance runner that is good at all 3 events; the 800, mile and 2 mile. He will race all 3 events in one day. They are obviously ran at all different speeds/paces… Hence the ladder workout. Anyway… After that workout they ran a 15 minute cool down.
We had family night tonight…

Our lesson was on being clean… Keeping our rooms clean, the play room, bathrooms, etc… We also went over chores again. As parents, Corom and I realized we have been to relaxed on making our girls work and clean. I will tell them to do it and when they don’t, I clean it myself… Horrible habit to get into!!! We are changing things around and will have to start taking things away until they learn to do things. ๐ So today, I cleaned their rooms spotless (sounds kind of funny after this little lecture of mine)… But come tomorrow their rooms better look the same!!!
Well have a great night…
We had my sister’s kids over night. It was a late night and an early morning., but surprisingly getting all 8 kids ready for church went very smoothly. It helped that they were all up around 6-6:15… That gave me at least 2 1/2 hours to get them and myself ready. Corom went to a meeting that started at 6 a.m. So we just met him at church.

I had a couple (the Silcox’s) on one end of the church bench and Julie Anderson and Z on the other end with me right in the middle… With their help Sacrament meeting wasn’t to hectic. ๐ I (and my friend Camille) taught about families in my 2nd daughter’s primary class today. It was fun. We made little family puppets.
At home, the cousins played, we went for a walk, visited some neighbors (and checked out their amazing green house), made pizzas and had dessert with the Fullmer’s.

The kids all had fun… Today was my rest day from any type of exercise… It’s kind of nice! ๐
Well today I headed out to Thanksgiving Point to run a 1/2 marathon race. It was a very rainy morning and it really didn’t let up.

I do love running in the rain and the course was unbelievably beautiful!!! We ran through their Tulip Gardens, around thanksgiving point and onto the golf course. Simply amazing…

The only problem with the course, I was racing it so I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I would have liked to. ๐ (My family and I will definitely go back to walk through the gardens!) The course was HARD! I should have known that after the 1st mile of most of it being up hill that the course would be tough. I did start off too fast for this course… By mile 9, I was mentally and physically tired. I ran the last 4.1 purely on wanting to finish… I was able to keep up my pace to finish off 2nd overall in women’s at a time of 1:24.45. (I won $250 cash, so that was a bonus!!! :)) I was a little upset with my time until I looked at the last couple of years results and noticed that this truly was a tough course. There were lots of hills and there were some areas on the course that was slippery from all the rain but it was all part of the adventure. We were all soaking and cold when we finished but the rain was fun. The women’s overall winner (Devra) is an amazing runner and I am proud to say I ran with her for the 1st 3 miles. ๐ I ran a 2 mile warmup and was able to run a 2 1/2 mile cool down but not until an hour later. I left the race as soon as I finished to book it down to a high school track meet. I wanted to make sure I caught the miles… After the mile races were done, I was able to run my cool down with some if the kids…

It rained and sometimes poured during the entire track meet. The kids ran well especially under these conditions. We (the team) didn’t stay for the entire meet due to the fact that it is Prom tonight for them. Meanwhile, Corom was back at home with the girls and 4 of my sister’s kids. They are between the ages of 1-8. What a Man! ๐

Once I got home, we helped Z get ready for Prom… She was so excited. Our friend Megan did her hair and make-up. Megan then asked about the boutonniรจre… Ahhhhh… So I completely spaced the whole boutonniรจre thing…

So Corom cuts one of our tulips from the front yard and makes one! I wish I could do something like that but I can’t. It turned out so good! Z looked so pretty in her dress and her date is a very nice guy. My girls could not leave her alone! They were finally able to pull away and head off to Prom.

The Barney’s came over to join our chaos with the kids. We had dinner and then hung out for a while.

It took awhile to put the kids to bed… I am tired! Corom went up to the Fullmer’s house to watch some fights or something and I stayed to be with the kids and to try to get to bed before 11… I will be cutting it close!
The run this morning was great! I ran about 6.7 miles in 55:22.30. It was a nice and easy run with Amber, Rachelle and

It was a beautiful morning.
I watched a couple of kids today for a friend of mine and the kids played great today… I was able to get laundry done, rooms cleaned, etc. with very few interruptions. I did have a PTO meeting (I’m in training :/). We met up outside so all the kids were able to play on the playground.

For track the kids that are competing tomorrow did a 15 to 20 min easy run and the kids that are not racing did 15 to 20 minutes of bleachers… We all met back up with the entire team and finished off practice with games and root-beer floats. Good carb loading before the meet tomorrow.

The girls had fun at their friend’s house today while I was at track practice…

Corom and I decided we wanted to do a “date” night tonight, so I quickly made the girls dinner, got them ready for bed and put a movie on for them at about 5:30…

Then him and I ordered take out from The Pizza Factory. We have never ordered take out before. We had a nice “candle light” dinner while the girls watched a movie. It was a nice and peaceful dinner. ๐ I don’t know why we have never thought of that before! Well this will be an early night for me so I can get up early and go to my Thanksgiving Point 1/2 marathon race. (Corom went to Mike’s house to watch a movie and Z went out on a date. The kids and I went to bed.)
I met up with Amber and Rachelle and went out for an 8.5 mile run. We finished it in 1:04.14. The morning was beautiful and we started off our run nice and easy. A few miles in we did pick up the pace to a good solid run. We finished off with 3 strides and I headed on home for the morning routine. (Corom and Mike went for a run… Corom decided to actually train for the St. George marathon this year and not just get out and run it.) ๐
I took the girls to school and had the opportunity to go to my kindergartener’s classroom to help. It was community appreciation day. My sister-in-law (the girls’s Aunt) came in the Ambulance…

The kids loved it!!! There was an Olympian that came to the class… He won the Gold in 1946 for 110 meter high hurdles. It was very interesting to hear his story! Then the kids were able to hear from one of the local police officers…

There were a couple of other stations but I had to leave to began the pickup of the 2 younger girls. It was a neat thing to hear and the kids enjoyed it.
Corom had the day off so him and Mike began the process of building a tree house…

I went to track for just a little bit today. I sent them off on a run and had to take Z (our foreign exchange student) somewhere. I made it back for the last 10 minutes of practice to find the kids sitting, stretching, icing, etc.

They said they had a good run (5 1/2 to 7 miles)… I came home and the backyard was full of neighbor kids. ๐ Some boys were helping Corom and Mike, the girls had friends over, the dogs were frolicking with the other neighbor dog (that snuck through the fence)… ๐ It was a party. Anyway, Corom went with the Young Men and Young Women (from our ward/church) to give them a tour through the jail. He is a therapist (Social Worker) there so he was able to set something up. I watched T.V. tonight and loved it. ๐
