Lots Of Running/Track…

Tuesday: Jeff and I went out for a 58:04 minute run. I don’t know how far we ran but I do know it was over 7 1/2 miles… I dropped the 3 older girls off at school and my youngest and I headed to the HS to help with The Hershey track meet and to begin setting up for the JV track meet (our school is hosting it).

Yeah that is one of our javelin throwers attempting the hurdles. 🙂 We hosted the JV meet… It went smoothly and we were able to finish it pretty fast!  We had the State Qualifiers help us out at the meet. It was a huge help.

Once the meet ended, we had the city youth track. Many of the HS kids stuck around to help with that! The little kids love being around the HS kids. It is fun to watch them interact!  We have amazing kids in this community!!!

Wednesday: Amber and I went out for a 8 mile run in 1:02. 34. It was so great meeting up with her… It has been a while since we ran together. The rest of the day, I did not have too much going on so I was able to get cleaning done. 🙂 My 2 younger ones went to a friends house for a couple of hours… Even better. 🙂 This evening we had a City track meet that we are hosting. I went and picked up 10 large pizzas and had 22 HS track kid helpers. You tell a HS kid there will be food and they will show up to help. It was great because they ran all the field events (long jump, standing long jump, high jump, shot put, discus and javelin). They even took over the timing and the finish line. 🙂  We couldn’t have ran this meet as successfully without them!

It was cute because they “raced” the 4 x 400 with the kids. My girls ran so well! I love watching them run at the meets. They are always finishing in the middle of the pack but that’s what I like. They are enjoying it and there is no pressure (yet). 🙂

After the meet, I did go on RS visits (I met up with Barbara, Megan and Lenore). It was nice visiting and My youngest was loving it.

The girls went to bed real quick tonight! Loved it! 🙂

Thursday: I was supposed to meet up with Mac, Aubrey and Amber this morning but I slept in. :/ So I eventually got up (6 a.m.) and went out on my own… 59:15 minutes (9 miles). I tried to do some fartleks… Oh I am out of speed shape! But it will come back (hopefully sooner than later). The rest of my day was consisted of cleaning and cooking…

We did have a little break of going to the dentist. The older 3 girls and I went in for our 6 month cleaning check. My 2nd daughter has 4 cavities, my 3rd daughter has 2 cavities, and my oldest has 1 but it is on her baby tooth which is ready to fall out. Thank goodness! I, for the 1st time ever, don’t have any cavities! 🙂 Gosh… With my youngest having 6 cavities (bad ones) and Corom getting a root canal… And now the other 2… We are in trouble!

For track practice, the distance runners went on a 10-15 min shakeout run with 3-5 strides. Then the HS kids that made it to State, came over for dinner! We had about 30+ kids show up. A few of us coaches gave a motivational speech while the kids ate.

It was a nice evening! I will admit that I can’t wait for this weekend to be over… The nerves that us coaches get before their races!!! It’s just as bad as when I race. I am just praying that the kids race/perform well.

Mother’s Day

Sunday: Mother’s Day today! 🙂 Corom told me I had to stay in bed until him and the girls got breakfast done. I was totally ok with that… 2 hours went by and in those 2 hours was a lot of noise, chaos and fighting. (So a normal morning :)). I decided to get up and get ready before I headed out to see what I could help with. To my surprise, this is what Corom and the girls (mainly Corom) came up with for breakfast…

It was simply amazing and I was so full by the time I was done. He made crepes (with sausage and sautéed vegetables), fruit smoothie, fruit bowl, Yogurt with chocolate chunks, toast, orange juice and then 3 dessert crepes (chocolate, caramel & whipped cream with strawberries). Oh it was heaven!  And I ate 95% of it. :/

The girls wrapped up school made, home made & $1 store gifts for me. 🙂 They were so excited to give me their gifts!

We were in a little bit of a rush getting to church… A little hectic but we made it on time. Oh… Every year the girls always make something for me to wear on Mother’s Day and something for Corom to wear on Father’s Day. So this year, I got to wear a set of wings. :/ Awesome, right? In church today for Sunday school and RS, all the women met together and socialized, ate (more food :/), and had a nice lesson.

For dinner, we went up to the Fullmers (with the Barneys) and the husbands made all of us (moms and kids) dinner. It was really nice and fun to hang out.

Our 2nd daughter wanted her tooth to be pulled, so Corom got the tweezers out and yanked her tooth out.

Monday: I met up with Jeff and went out for a 1:23.43 minute run. I felt good. I don’t know how many miles we put in but it was a good run.  I didn’t have a whole lot going on today… I watched my friend’s Kindergartener for a while and my friend Camille and her little girls came over. We went for a walk around the pond and just let the girls play.

My 2 younger girls and I walked to the elementary school to pick up the 2 older girls. It was a beautiful day out!

I went to track practice and sent half the kids on a few mile run (all the JV runners that will be racing in the JV meet tomorrow) and the kids that made it to State all had a speed workout. (2 x 400’s, 3 x 300’s, 3 x 200’s).

We had family night, cleaned the house, yard and car. Fun times around here!

Graduation, Temple Tour, Dentist Visit, Running & More

Friday: I went out for a good run this morning. I felt good.

At home, we had to hurry and get the girls ready.  We took them to the Payson temple open house to do a walk through before school started. It was amazing! The feeling of peace was so strong walking through the temple with the girls (and our neighbor boy :), I take him to school in the mornings so we took him with us)… I just knew that families are forever. It was a neat experience for our girls.

We went out for donuts after the temple trip and before we dropped them off at school…

Our youngest had her pre-school graduation… She was so cute in her program!!!

Her teacher is so amazing… I am so sad that we won’t be having another child go through her school anymore. All my girls just adored her!

Corom had a dentist appointment today and I was able to squeeze my youngest in… She was complaining about her teeth. Well after x-rays and a quick check of the teeth, she has 6 cavities- 2 of them root canals. :/ She is only 5 years old!!! It is going to be expensive! 😦 We had to re-schedule her dental work for a few weeks from now because she has to be put under. Corom on the other hand was getting a root canal taken care of. There goes all of our tax returns. Good times!

Shortly after, Corom left on a camp out with the YM’s/scouts for the night. They took the bus down to Goblin Valley… Always an adventure! They ran out of gas on their way down. Fortunately, they were at the top of the summit and Corom was able to coast the bus down to a gas station (1/2 mile away). The boys loved it! He (Corom) then ended up swallowing the cap on his tooth that he just got in today. :/ That made me laugh when he sent the text. They had a great time hiking and hanging out.

For me and the girls… We had movie night. Marti T and her kids came over to join in the fun.

Saturday: I was able to get a 45 minute run in. With Corom gone, I stayed close to the house. It was a beautiful morning! Before I went out for my run, I slammed my finger in the door. Oh, it hurt!!! When I returned home, I realized my finger bled a lot!

I cleaned up and the girls and I headed to the church to get things ready for Mother’s Day. It was fun spending time with these amazing ladies… Always a good time!

I took the girls to Christensen’s Loop right before lunch to have them run around. I had to get some of their energy out! We ran walked for about 20 minutes.

The rest of the afternoon, the girls and I cleaned and played until Corom got home.

Corom took the girls to the store (for Mother’s Day stuff) and I visited a friend of mine in the hospital.she just had her adorable baby. We got a babysitter for about an hour and a half so we could go to dinner with the Barney’s and the Fullmer’s. It was Travis’s birthday a few days ago, so of course we had to celebrate. We came back to the house after dinner and had some birthday brownies. I ran into my old boss at dinner. It was so great seeing Ralph!!! I worked at Sundance Ski Resort for 13 years… He was the best!

Region Champs!

Wednesday: I went out for another good run. My legs were sore but still good to go. 🙂

I wanted to go further but the last mile my calf was feeling a little tight so I just turned in and headed home. Still not a tightness to worry about. 🙂  I ran a few errands with my youngest today and then watched a couple of neighbor kids. (My youngest and I looked at elderly living places for my parents… They are talking about moving, so I went looking :))….

Shortly after I headed to the school to catch the bus for our Region Track Meet. This is the 1st day of a 2 day region final meet.

What a difference of moods from the drive to the meet from the drive home! They were so nervous and quiet on the way down and complete opposite on the way back. All I have to say is what a excellent day of competing!!! We thought we were going to be in stormy rain weather (it was raining pretty hard all before the meet started… We were huddled in our little tent listening to the rain fall)…

…but as soon as the races began, the sun came out and held off until the last race finished! Perfect!  All of our kids (in distance, sprints & field events) performed well! Many of the sprinters made the finals for tomorrow and most of the distance runners PR’d in the mile. We had a couple of more qualify for State (in the mile). The field eventers killed it in all of their events today (on the girls and guys)… Many PR’s and a few school records broken.

We left the meet with both (male & female) in 1st place…. We will see if we can hold onto it for the end of tomorrow’s meet. Now it’s time to head home, rest up and come back tomorrow for more competing. The kids will be tired so hopefully they will be smart and go to bed early! The girls had fun with the babysitter today and our puppies are getting big!!!

Thursday: I met up with Danny this morning for my run. It was beautiful!

The run was great… My legs felt good today with no tightness in the calf. 🙂 I wanted to go more but knew I needed to stop.

After the kids went to school, Barbara, Megan and I met up and put Mother’s Day gifts together. Then I went to my Kindergartener’s class to help.

I watched a few neighbor kids today (which is always nice because they entertain my kids :)). Shortly after I headed off to our 2nd day of the Track & Field Region finals. Once again the weather held off for us. And once again, the kids performed well!

They ran, jumped, threw so well that it earned them 1st place for Region Champs in both the boys and girls. 🙂 It was awesome! Such a fun meet to watch!

We had many qualify for State (next weekend), many PR’s and many school records! I had to hurry off to my 2 older daughter’s piano recital. They played really well. I was proud of them.  They were so excited when they finished. 🙂

We came home to our door being decorated from some of the kids from the team… My girls really liked that!

Well it’s late and I need to go to bed! It was a great day!

Family Time & Of Course Track & Running :)

Sunday: I was able to sleep in this morning. Corom left for his usual 7 a.m. church meetings and I stayed in bed for a good half an hour after that. I let the girls get their own breakfast this morning. 🙂 My sister & her family, my brother & his family, my dad and my Aunt Georgia were all coming over for dinner tonight. We are BBQing, so the kids went outside to check the grill…

We were a little surprised to see what was underneath the lid! Good thing we are using our charcoal grill! Soon after, It was off to church… Church was really good today. It was fast Sunday and my 2nd child went up and bore her testimony. I don’t know how she is so brave! We came home from church and walked in to this mess… :/

I don’t know how our dang dog got in but I wanted to beat her at that second! I cleaned it up, then got things ready for the Fam… It was fun having them here! My dad is in town because my little brother graduated with his masters (we were sad my mom couldn’t make it out). But we had a good time hanging out; we walked around the pond near our house…

We then took a little ride on the bus to the new Payson temple…

It is so beautiful! Shortly after it was time for everyone to leave and for us to put the kids to bed. Love that time of day! 🙂 just before I went to bed, I checked on the girls… That cannot be comfortable!

Monday: I went out for a short run. My calf felt good today. I was so excited to finish off my run with no pain at all (a little tight but nothing to worry about). I wanted to go longer but I knew I shouldn’t so I headed home.

I wanted to sing the rest of the day!!! 🙂 I did go to a PTO meeting (for the elementary school) and then a few neighbor kids came over to play until I had to go to track.

I liked the shirt this kid was wearing (of course I had to send it to Corom ;)). We have our region meet in 2 days, so the distance kids went on an easy 5 1/2 mile run. For Family night, we had a few families over. We had a friend of ours go over 72 hour kits. It was so good to review this and to be prepared because Corom and I are not and with 4 kids we need to be!!!

Tuesday: I went out for another great run this morning! I ran into Mac & Amber for a good chunk of my run.

Oh I hope this keeps up!!!! Fingers crossed! I took the girls to school and then met my 3rd grader at the HS for their Hershy track meet. She had so much fun!

Shortly after this was over, I had the HS track. I sent them off on a 2-3 mile run and ended off with 5 strides.

Right after this practice ended, I had the youth track practice. It is so good that my kids like track. I would be in trouble if they didn’t!

Thank goodness for the HS kids that come out and coach! These young kids love the HS kids! I did have a RS thing to go to. We made pizzas with the graduating seniors. Amazing young women!

I came home to a clean house (thanks so much Corom), the 2 younger ones asleep and the 2 older ones in bed but talking. 🙂

They made a bed in their closet to sleep in for the night. They are so cute!
